I pulled in after dark, and left early the next morning. Very pretty lake, but too cold to enjoy much of it other than looking out my window. The site I stayed at was level, the utilities worked, and the shower and restroom were clean. The camp host came out and gave me a friendly greeting when I walked up to the entrance to see if there was an after hours check in. Overall it was a good experience. Not sure I'll pass this way again, but if I do I would certainly stay here again.Kent

Very clean, well maintained park in close proximity to everything in Waco.

The campground was lovely, but our site was missing a roof over the picnic tables making it very hot during the day. Many sites were missing roofs over the tables, but many under the trees had them. Not sure why this wasnt complete. The mens bathroom had one toilet backed up for the entire time we were here. This was making it rough on the guys, no matter how many times we reported it nothing got done. Our group even bought a plunger to try to fix it, this helped some, but they needed to get a plumber in to fix it. We also kept running out of toilet paper. Seems that the management of the campground was struggling. Showers were great - hot and large.

Nice view of the lake and sunsets across the water. Was there in record cold Jan 2024 so the shower building was closed for some of the stay. Shower opened later in our stay, but still cold ambient temps and the building is not heated. I guess they would not normally require heat for these structures ... but it would have been nice that week. The road noise is present ... sometimes annoying, but usually tolerable. Airport noise is present, but not noticed as often ask road noise. Can also hear (and feel) rocket engines from McGregor SpaceX facility twenty plus miles away. This is on the edge of a major urban area so I probably should have expected the noise. Overall it was a decent home base from which to explore some of greater WACO. I would go back to this campground if I was back in that area, but consider something farther from the noise if it was available.

We stayed 3 nights in a motorhome. Many sites appeared to be difficult to level. Ours included. Close to places we wanted to see in Waco. Friendly staff. Would probably stay again if we are in the area.

The bathrooms were filthy. Stopped up toilets, apparantly, not cleaned in a while.
