Great park, sites are spaced apart and whole camp is well maintainednote: gates close at 10:00 and you have to drive in to town for any services -- but great for quiet, relaxing tent site with beautiful views

Only two of the four electric outlets worked. One light on the back shelter wall worked not the center or outside flood lights.

The shelter I rented had some of the screen missing and the fan in there had missing fan blades and there was cigarette butter everywhere and there was a used sponge there and there was grease inside the shelter

Disappointing. I've never had any trouble at an RV camping site in this park. But the shelter experience was entirely different. First of all, the shelter was filthy dirty. There is no clean-up by (non-existent) park personnel in-between guest visits. I had to clean up food left on the floor of the shelter and outside as well. Second, the description says "screened" which is a joke...maybe half of the screen is still there so basically you are enclosed by chicken wire. There weren't any mosquitoes or flies so that wasn't a big deal. But people have pried open the cage in various places for some reason. Since you can't lock the shelter if you should leave, then you run the risk of your stuff getting stolen. Third, the description says "ceiling fan"; well, there were only two of four blades attached and a third blade was on the floor. Thankfully I brought my own fan. On the upside, the view of the lake, picnic table and fire ring were great. And there was a lock on the door to lock yourself in at night which made me feel more safe. I was told budget cuts have affected all USACE parks which is really a shame.

I paid on recreation.gov and reserved a spot. Got there and the park was closed.

Stayed cabin #8 Perfect view, close to the water, big trees even when 102 degrees it's refreshing. I would have given them 5 stars but the screen need to be fix lots of spider web building at the ceiling wish they could power wash ...

Very nice facility in a great location overlooking the lake. Also great fishing from the bank with cut shad. Only bad experience was the door on the shelter was very rusted, sharp, and falling apart. Thankfully no injuries happened but I was constantly having to watch my 3yo to make sure he didn't cut himself on it.

Great view, nice park. The only issue I had? We chose one of the "shelter" sites. There wasn't really any level space for us to pitch our tent. Granted, our tent is a large "family style" 4 person tent. Further, because the site had a shelter (which I assume was on the level space a tent could have gone) we just slept in the shelter. So, not really an issue. Just an "FYI".

Very nice shelter site but the door had a lock but the park doesn’t give out a key anymore due to a policy change. Consequently we had stuff stolen on the two occasions we left the site.

We have camped here many time in the past year. The park itself is nice. However the camp attendant Theresa makes every experience stressful and unnerving. She is rude and hateful every time we have had to encounter her. When we pull into the park and see she is the one at the gate we just get a knot in our stomach wandering what kind of smart mouth thing she has to say with this encounter. Any time we have people join us for a few hours while we are camping she gives them a hard time. She is a rule Nazi until 6pm when she gets off then she does nothing to make other campers follow the rules. She made this big ordeal this past weekend that we could have no more than 4 vehicles at the camp site which is fine we are good with following the rules. However the campsite across from us have 13 vehicles and that is ok. They are also allowed to run a 4 wheeler up and down the road until well past 11pm . We end up calling the Sheriff's Dept to get them to quiet down. I then end up going to the camp host trailer and I was told that they don't enforce the rules after they close the gatehouse at 6pm. The park rangers did nothing either. I can say that as much as we have enjoyed camping at airport park I will never go back as long as there is a chance of encountering Theresa again. She is the most hateful heartless person I have ever had to encounter. We have had to encounter her hatefulness an several occasions.

Clean, surprisingly quiet inspite of being next to an airport. The layout (grill, water, outlet, etc, was really well thought out. The sites are spaced apart enough to get some privacy from other campers. The park host is amazing ...she is very helpful and kind.

Great park with huge lake within the city of Waco. We use the shelters that have been rebuilt after floods. Park staff is outstanding.
