Camp site was clean and ready. The camps sites have a lot of room between each other compared to rv parks.

From the time we arrived to the time we left our stay was very pleasent.
The attendent on (a lady) was more than helpful, I commend her for all tge effort of finding us the right spot and "right" it was. Overall we will be going back, this is jewel hidden in the trees.

Site #60 is beautiful. Right on the lake and lots of open space near the shore. It also has an shelter over the picnic table. The Verizon tower was down the night we stayed, so I can't rate the cell service.

If you don’t mind the airport being so near, it is a beautiful place to camp. Nice, clean, tree covered campsites. It’s only about an hour and a half from our home.

Great location and the staff is very friendly. Just need more RV sites with sewer.

This is a wonderful Corps of Engineers park. Every site had freshly raked gravel and most had a large cement pad with a roof over it (some roofs were gone due to the last storm) and a picnic table in the covered area. There was also a metal grill on a stand and a fire-ring. We didn't use these, but were impressed that the sites were so well-equipped. The campground was quiet and peaceful which sounds odd since it's by a small regional airport. We enjoyed watching the planes, especially the small ones. Our sleep was not affected by the airport as there were very few planes after about 8pm. The lake is lovely, the sunsets phenomenal, the lights of Waco twinkled across the lake at night and the wind on the lake caused the waves to lap on the shoreline - altogether a lovely setting. The campground has 3 large sections, all of which have well-spaced sites. The tent sites each have small screened shelters with a solid wall in the back - something we'd love if we were tent camping. The bathhouses in our area were clean but very dated and not very appealing. They are in great need of a facelift. We didn't use them, but peeked in.

We rode our bicycles through the entire campground and wished we had time to ride some of the bike trails elsewhere in the park. We stayed at Airport COE Park twice during our Texas trip and had sites 57 (a pull-through) and 60 (back-in). Both were level and had water and electric. The ladies at the office were very nice and the park was very clean.

Don't miss nearby Waco Mammoth National Monument - 23 Columbian mammoths were discovered there and you'll get to visit the actual dig site with bones still in the ground. Very interesting! Heritage Homestead was also very interesting. We had some terrific goodies from Magnolia Bakery. We loved the Waco area and this COE park and will be back.
