I always love coming out here and spending time with my family and enjoying the peace, the nature, the water, just everything. The views are beautiful site 7 and 8 are the best sites, but all the other ones are great too.

We stayed in a screened shelter twice in the last three months (Dec and Feb). Once in a driving rain and once in very cold weather. For us it was great. We pitch our personal tents in the shelter, hang plastic sheeting on the windward side of the shelter (tie to hardware cloth with polycord) and enjoy. The hardware cloth is in very good condition - the screens are in poor condition, so in mosquito season that will be something to consider. We visit family nearby and find this a close by inexpensive alternative to motels and allows us to camp out near the deer and fish. The first time I heard the Space-X rockets in the wee hours was disorienting - that's a mighty big jet for such a little airport was the first thought. The Waco Mammoth National Monument and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum are nearby and worthy of a look if you need a quick adventure.

This park and Screen shelter site 007 was the best. The view of the lake from the site was amazing. It was too windy suddenly by night till 2nd day of our stay. - Shelters are big and have clean base but mesh inside has broken spots. - 2 outlets weren't working- Carry a broom to clean webs if you need to- Overall site is well maintained. - Bathroom is a bit far by walk. Esp for little kids or urgent need -carry a portable one if you can else a drive/bike to the nearest restroom. - 2 showers were not working. Loads of dry wood around can be used for a great campfire. We loved our stay and would recommend and plan to come back in future.

I'm sure this is a wonderful place during the summer months. The site is well equipped with a screened in shelter with a bench/table and electric. It even has a fan! Outside is a water spigot, fire ring, barbecue grill and picnic table. It is right on the lake and the the sunsets are gorgeous. My experience here was not so great. Due to the fact that it is right on the lake, it is extremely windy, even when it is not so windy in town. It was a little on the cold side (50 degree weather) and the wind made our stay almost unbearable. The first night, we camped inside in a small tent and hung up a blanket as a wind breaker. Everyone else had hung up tarps so we bought 2 for the 2nd night which made things much better. The first night, 4 vehicles rolled into the campsite across from us, started hammering up their tarps and woke us up about 10:30 pm singing Karaoke...and singing it loudly....and badly I might add. None of this is the fault of the facility, except that no-one was really monitoring the place to see that campers observed the quiet hours. The shower facilities were just okay. One was missing a handle so you couldn't use it. The other one was working but had no place to put your stuff while you showered. They could use an upgrade, but the water was hot and strong. Beware that it is windy by the lake if you decide to stay here.

I used this park to overnight camp on my way to San Antonio. It was beautiful quiet and peaceful, the bathrooms could use an update. Friendly gate staff and amazing views of the lake make this one worth an extended stay. I would definitely come back for a longer visit.

This is a great spot for camping and hanging out on the weekends. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys time outside and being lakeside! The table, bench, grill, electricity, and water are great amenities all at a reasonable price!

Super windy spot. I'm sure in the heat of summer that Is a benefit. When it's 36 degrees, it is not. The shelter was a nice help. People really need to be mindful of others when camping. Chopping wood at 3 am is rude to neighbors.
