Airport Park is very popular due to the proximity of sites to Lake Waco, providing lots of opportunities for fishing, walking, seeing beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and sitting around the campfire. We spent 4 nights utilizing 3 different campsites. All 3 sites were great2 were FHU, and one was water/electric only. Be sure to get a map of the park to help you choose the site(s) that best fit your camping style. Watch out for the deer and other wildlife!

The park needs to be mowed and the stickers are out of control. There are no tops on the picnic tables for shade. This park is always full and such a beautiful lake but needs some attention.

Spots were private, flat and large and the views....wow. Sunsets were spectacular! The bathrooms were not good...they desperately need a cleaning and an update. We stayed a few days, but cancelled our week long stay due to the state of the toilet and shower facilities. Would stay again as long as I was okay not to shower for a while.

It was nice and quiet. Alot of cigarette butts and pop tops from cans on ground. Had to rake the area ourself to get them up so our dogs wouldn't eat them. Had not been raked or cleaned before we got there. Alot of stickers in the grass! Would be nice if they weren't there. Overall we had a great time.

This COE park is a solid five stars if you are staying in a self contained RV. If not, read other reviews about the needed maintenance on bathhouses and camping shelters. If the money is not there to repair, not much staff can do. Otherwise, there is a reason that it consistently makes different "best campgrounds" lists. Spacious sites with privacy and gorgeous lake views. Outstanding and helpful staff. Many FHU sites that are clean and raked. Be warned that the loop with sites 44 to 80 are directly under the departure runway for the airport. It can get noisy during the day from very low flying, mostly private, single/ double engine aircraft with a few executive jets. Despite that, I highly recommend this park.

We loved this campground so much we worked our exit from our Texas trip so we could stay here again. Excellent campsites. Phenomenal sunsets over the lake. Lots of deer. Great place to ride bicycles. Very nice and helpful staff. Great phone reception and lots of local TV channels. The nearby airport plane noises went away by the time we went to bed. We kind of enjoyed watching planes coming in to land behind us. Did not use the bath house, but looked and saw they are clean but could use major updating. We will be back!

Beautiful park, large spread out spaces, most with lake views. Accessible shoreline with easy put-in for kayaks etc. Highly recommend.

Pros: The camp host at the gate was very friendly and helpful. The campsite was very nice...level, great view, easy to park.Cons: One big con- the bathhouse was TERRIBLE. Basically on one shower worked. The remainder were broke or permanently locked.
