Winkler Park Campground in McLennan County is located just 19 min northwest of Temple, TX with an elevation of 612 feet. There are a total of 14 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of March to the end of October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 75 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. All sites have water hookups. Prices start at $20.00 per night. Some amenities include flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, floating sports.

Park hosts came to our campsite to greet us when we got there. Park was clean, quiet and very pleasant.

Hosts were awesome. Checked up on us right away as we pulled in. The grounds were very clean and grass was cut back enough to not have to worry about snakes. Shade and charcoal grills available even though we brought our own. Many points for lake access allowed us to drop in fishing rods and kayaks easily. Overall very pleasant experience.

Hosts were very kind and very informative. Sites were very clean and very nice to camp at. Views of the lake were beautiful, would definitely camp here again.

I spent 3 nights here and it was delightful, even with the crazy wind we experienced. The park is small but very well maintained. The host was wonderful and super helpful. The campsites were very neatly mowed and it was a gentle slope to the water, very easy to carry my paddleboard down. Yes, the bathrooms are outdated, but the toilets were clean, the paper stocked, and the shower hot. Not much else one can hope for in an affordable primitive park! I'll definitely return.

We arrived late in the evening, without reservation and the park was empty.It was a very quiet night with a starry sky.Our site was close to the sea (~5m).The host was very friendly and welcomed us in the morning.Water available, but no electricity.Dump station ist offsite.

This park is wonderful. The park hosts are very polite and knowledgeable. The only thing I would change is to add sinks and mirrors in the restrooms. We had a great time there and we will return

The park is beautiful!! One thing I would change is to have sinks and mirrors in the restrooms. The park hosts were fantastic!! Jerry and Cheryl keep up the great work!! Also the park rangers were all awesome. We rented 7 spots for a family get together. We all said we will be back. The no electric was not a problem for us. We have generators. Looking forward to our next visit. This park will be our go to any time we go camping

Calm stay by the water. Loved having shade at spot #5. Spot #6 was also nice and might pick that one next time since it has an easier path to the water. Hot showers and flushable toilets saved the day as well as the volunteers that live on site. Thank yall :) will be back

The campsite and grounds were well kept. The guest next to us were a nightmare. We stayed three nights and the first two nights were great with neighbors. The third night we got new neighbors and as soon as they showed up it was constant screaming and yelling (kids and adults) that carried on until well after midnight. They parked one of their vehicles in our campsite about 3 feet from our tent. We didnt push the issue but we should have because after it got cold they decided to sleep in their truck with it running. Exhaust blowing right in the tent. 4 in the morning and they started back in with the loudness and carrying on. No respect for individual campsites, walking right through and hanging out in everyones campsites as if it was theirs. Should have notified the park host but tired to keep the peace.. WILL NOT DO THAT ANYMORE!
