We had not visited here in a while. We had a family get together this weekend. Immediately we began seeing campers at the 1st shelter that were a bit riff raft. There was a lot of them . They were letting dogs walk around and attended even at the shore line. They had a gray pit bull that was aggressive and we asked the people to keep him on a leash several times we were at site#4 . We had elders and lots of small children as we were having a family crawfish boil on Saturday. Our dogs were all on leashes. At one point the Pitbull arrived at our side and attached one of our older Aussie dogs and would have killed her had her son not jumped on the dog and another who the pit by his back legs to get him to release the older dog who was attacked. These same group of people were trying to hide the pit . We called for a park ranger to show up. Later that evening a guy with long hair enter the women's bathroom following ladies from our group and just walked in the bathroom saying he was invited in he would not leave proceeded to go to the mirrors and admire himself several times. He did finally. We constantly had to watch out for them . We couldn't even walk our own dogs on leashes because of this group of people. White Flint use to be a bad place it was straightened out making it enjoyable for family time. The Core needs to get staff there to keep trouble makers ,dogs unattended and I'm sure drug usage down. On Sunday we were getting packed up my husband looked up her dogs were in a metal round pen there was another reddish pit dragging his leash around. He was at our three dog pen area and my husband chased him away. He looked underfed . We noticed him at the shelter across from the bathroom it appeared the men there went down to the water got loose. We had family leaving who pulled into the restroom parking lot to block the dog . 2 women came out of the restroom and took the dog to the shoreline. At this point it's dangerous for families with kids/ pets to feel safe

Our favorite local park. Beautiful, quiet, nice showers and affordable shelters with electric and water access. Pet friendly makes it even better.

The park hosts were awesome - there was some very loud fighting going on and it was a bit scary - but it finally settled down. The grounds and lake were amazing.

Pretty nice place near the lake. Site 10 had nice shade and plenty of room for our 58 truck/travel trailer and guest parking and grassy areas for a tent in shade also.

We spent two nights here to view the April eclipse. The sites are large with paved parking areas and a covered picnic table. Our site #10 was quite level, and we had a nice view of the lake. The night sky was very dark and offered great stargazing. One thing to note if you have pets is that the grass is full of stickers. We had to remove them from our dogs feet and fur every time we walked them outside. There is a restroom/shower house that was clean and well maintained. Sites are spaced out so you have decent room between you and your neighbors. The campground is also secure with gates that require an access code to enter. Additionally the rangers drove through on a regular basis.

This area was perfect for us. Reminded us of our home state of Kentucky. The Host was a great person, was friendly and seemed to enjoy his job there.

Beautiful Area. Park was clean and quiet...Even if your a local, this park is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world around us. It gave me the chance to get back to the simple things in life.

The campsite was great, restrooms were adequate, security was good (gate code needed in order to enter & gates locked at night, but the water level of Lake Belton was really low. The boat ramp near us was closed and we had to drive to find a spot to fish.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
