Bathrooms were to far away, the fire pits were not enjoyable, too far from camp site, hosts were exceptionally friendly & helpful & wonderful. Lots of boat traffic.

This used to be one of the best camps in East Texas ! But over the years the maintenance and the rules have both fallen by the way side. Unfortunately ! The natural beauty of the park is most definitely still there. So many of the fire rings are basically unusable because they are placed on the side of inclines are they are set right against the concrete pads. We were there a few days after the Gov. shutdown. One of the park hosts was busy blowing leaves and cleaning up around the RV pads. He did a very nice job.

We have camped here for several years, during the week of Thanksgiving. Johnson Creek has always been a very nice camp, however in the last couple of years it has gone down. This year the water did not work for the first 3 days we were there. The camp hosts no longer enforce the rules. Campers park boats & trailers everywhere, including the grass areas and dogs are allowed to run free. So poop is just left wherever it droops. The hosts do not clean up the sites after campers leave. The fire rings are often full of half burnt trash and wood. The setting is pretty, it's a shame that the Corp of Engineers have let this campground go ! ! ! We will look for another campground. SAD it is ! The little town of Jefferson is close by and really a fun place to visit.

This is a great lakeside RV park. Most sites are level and the campground hosts do a good job keeping it clean. The young lady at the front gate was very helpful and welcoming.

It was very good but could have been excellent if the restrooms and showers were maintained a little better. People were very friendly and helpful.

This is a beautiful scenic lake and the camp is meticulously maintained in top condition. The personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. The gate keeper on our last stay told us how to save money on our reservation; we were extremely grateful to learn something new. We camp in our RV approximately 6 times each year; each stay is 7 to 10 days. From Johnson Creek we visit Jefferson, TX, with it's endless activities and quaint downtown eateries. There is also old town Avinger with it's somewhat pricey, but worth every penny, steakhouse, with live entertainment Thursday through Sunday. We also understand that Lake of the Pines is the best Crappy fishing lake in Texas! This is our favorite campground in the US!

The lake is absolutely beautiful! There are all kinds of wildlife that you will see such as deer & all kinds of birds. We had a woodpecker that visited us at our campsite & it was awesome to see him work in the tree. The only thing is the bathrooms need to be cleaned on a regular basis & updated.

This is the greatest little spot on Johnson Creek. Right on the water and the other RVs are not super close. If you're looking for R3 E315 though, it is not well marked. Once you pass R4 and go up an incline you have to take the first left and there is not sign to tell you that you're in the right place. Once you're in that loop though E315 is easy to find. That is the only negative. Everything else about this spot in great. Great view of the lake, easy access to the water, convenient to the restroom/shower, just perfect. This will be the spot we pick when we choose Johnson Creek. And there is a little Cafe' up the road from Johnson Creek that is wonderful. The food is great and the people are friendly. Great place to take the pups on walks.

This was an excellent park. Nice layout for the camping and RV spots. The RVs spots are mainly back-in with 50A and water hookups. There is a convenient dump station with easy access on the way out. The people that worked the park were extremely friendly and I would definitely stay here again!
