We had a really good time, site was clean, well kept. I noticed the camp host would come around and blow the pine straw off of the drive and table before a new "quest" would arrive. Good Job, Thank you Host.If a member of the Dutch oven cooking club comes by an invites you to watch them cook and sample thier handy work - GO, it will be worth your time. It was a great bunch of folks, very skilful and in formative, and the samples were fantastic. I Thank the park for letting them be there, and the club for inviting us - they extended the free invite to everyone in the park. The lake is shallow and the fish population hasn;t recovered from the lake being drained a few years back for dam repair, but the vegetation and birds are worth taking your kayak and paddling around. Big lily pads that where blooming while we were there, the elephant ears growing wild were huge. We were lucky enough to spot a few little gators, but they go hide quick , so stay in steath mode while in the kayak. TexDot is having the bridge crossing the lake, so expect a delay

Longer spots need 50 amps for longer rv's. There are 50 amps on short driveway for a pop up to 24 ft campers, they don't need 50 amps. I mentioned this issue every time, why ask if nothing gets fixed?

Spent about three days packing and getting things ready to go. Showed up at the park and drove by the dump station to see that it was taped off and closed. There were no other parks with availability to switch to last minute on Thanksgiving weekend. No host ever came by and told us about the issue or apologized for the inconvenience. We brought groceries to make our Thanksgiving lunch so we stayed 1 night, ate lunch, then packed up and left. In the rain. A ton of work for a one night stay. We even left work early to get up there before dark. I feel the issue should have been posted to the website or we should have received a text or email. A little communication goes a long way. Camping on Thanksgiving has become a tradition for us. I guess well have to change to places that have full hookups.

Its a wonderful park well Maintained. Open but still trees. Good open areas for fishing everywhere in the park. Great play ground

Sandy Creek is a great park with lake views and nice spacing between sites. It's my 3rd or 4th time camping there when Rving thru SE Texas. The only downside is the bath/shower house in the southern section needs some serious upgrades or replacement.
