Quiet, very few campers. Snowy, most campsites driveways were snow covered.

This is a decent park. Showers not that great. Lots of sites on the water. nice drive to the dam and walk across. Roads are decent for walking or biking. Nice covered table. Fire pit and bbq. Nice sunsets.

Sandy Creek is a well maintained park and the hosts are very helpful and hospitable. We always enjoy our stays here, although we camp in a tent having electricity and water makes it enjoyable.

This is our favorite camping place in TX. A hidden gem in the north-east of Houston that has the most amazing sunsets we have seen full or red, yellow, and orange that reflect on the surface of the lake. Although it doesnt have trails and other things found in state parks, it offers a relaxing environment with peace and quiet surrounded by tall pine trees all around.

Sandy Creek was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site was on the water and we had a mockingbird singing to us each morning we were there. I would like to give the park a five star review however the shower facilities were in deplorable shape. The staff worked to keep the showers/restrooms clean but there is just so much they could do.

I always enjoy camping at Sandy creek. I have camped here for over 50 years. There are so many memories here! The place is always clean. The park was full this time. I didn't see any alligators this time. Fishing has been terrible since they drained the lake several years ago. In years past we always caught a lot of fish. Now there is nothing! Wish they would stock the lake with more fish! Can't wait to go back.
