Park hosts were friendly and helpful. Park was clean (pine needles were even blown from driveways and roads). This is a lovely park where I've stayed on multiple occasions.

Park itself is well kept, but the roads in/out are terrible and low tree limbs on those same roads.

Large USACE campground! It connects to Martin Dies Jr State Park by a trail so we had lits of hiking. Good sized sites. Good ATT service.

The park has so much to offer on a lovely lake, however, unfortunately there is little to no oversight of the park. Unlike other Corps parks you barely see park hosts, they do not do rounds or check in on campers. Several of the sites had multiple tents and RVs, quiet hours were not adhered to. I will say that on Saturday the park filled up so there were a lot of holiday folks moving in all the more reason to have a presence. There is a serious issue with sand burrs, which it would be appropriate for a handout at the gate warning parents and pet owners of this issue. Garbage bins were a mess, which is on the guests but again having some presence as a park host, greeting people and letting them know you will be coming around periodically might be helpful in maintaining a pleasant experience for all. We love Corps parks and this has lovely potential but it is not a park for active folks due to the sand burr issues.

Terrific bike riding on quiet, smooth roads.Big shout out to staff member Elvin who looked out for everyone's needs.Careful when scouting for firewood. One of us happened upon a big snake in a pile of limbs. Two thumbs up for Sandy Creek.
