I arrived to Hanks Creek Park on a rainy day. I live two and a half hours away. When I arrived there was a host by the after-hours gate doing something. I gave him my reservation # etc. He asked me if I had the code to the gate to get in. I said no I've never had to use a code at any of the other Corp of Engineer parks unless it was after hours and at this time of the day it was around 3pm. He told me I needed the code to get in. I looked on my reservation from app and didn't see code. I asked him for the code since I couldn't find it. He said he couldn't give it to me because everyone gets a different code (lie). Mind you it's pouring outside and I have a reservation. He told me he would let me in but I need to get the code. I went back to campsite unpacked and started looking for the code, I didn't have internet or phone service. I tried for 45 min and needed to get to the store. This is all before 5pm. I left to go to the store, when I left the gate was open. When I can back 30 min later it was closed. No one around, before 5pm, the light were on in the office , and pouring down rain. The host rv is close by so I started honking to get someone's attention and I kept honking until the host (different one) came out. He also gave me a hard time for not having a gate code, still not past 5pm. I explained everything about my phone. The host wanted me to go over to his rv area and use his phone booster to get code. At this point I'm tired and almost in tears over a gate code. Ridiculous!!! I will never go back not just because the two make host were rude and difficult over a gate code but because T-Mobile phone service doesn't work. No phone service at all. I did catch a big catfish and the fog rolling-in, in the morning was peaceful.
