Needed to be mowed - I think there is 4 Rvs housing Park Host - wondering what exactly they get paid for - not mowed - bathrooms closed - never see any cleanup going on - no one at gate - would like to know what they get paid to do! Please reply!

The park is always neat & clean, mowing is done, fire rings are clean-- all these are done by the park volunteer hosts. The asphalt pads for RV's are broken off on each side, and have been for years. It is very dangerous to step out of your rv onto the broken off surface. Also, the metal picnic table covers on several spots have been damaged by trees for several years, and have never been repaired. We do like the Gate Code method now-- it is helpful to keep out unregistered guests. Thanks for your continued service!

We got there on Sat. On Sunday we had no power and it did not come back until Tue. Snow came also so we decided to leave on Tue after 2 days of no power. We are trying to get a refund but can’t talk to anyone in Rec.gov. I have been on hold for 1 1/2 hour. Nobody picked up. I reached out to them via FB but they could not do anything since the reservation was still active. The closed the park on Friday Feb 19 And we got a refund of 1 night. Can’t even ask for a refund on their website.
Terrible customer service.

We enjoyed our week in Site #8, which has an awesome view of Sam Rayburn Lake. We had a successful fishing trip, catching lots of blue & channel catfish. The campsites were very clean and the bathrooms were also kept very clean by the on-site camp hosts. The camp hosts did advise us that the park would be closing as of 9-30-19, and would not re-open until March, 2020, with many changes forthcoming. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED, along with many other campers who use this park during the fall and early winter months to hear of this closing. We also were told that, when the park did re-open in March, 2020, there would be no paid camp hosts-- only volunteers! This would affect the 4 closest parks on Sam Rayburn, which was voted the BEST CATFISHING LAKE in the US!We contacted our State Representative, our State Senator, as well as our County Representative. Many people wrote and called in to voice their opinions. The Corps of Engineers did consent to open a small (15 spaces) area of the 4 parks which were closing, which began 10-01-19, and will remain in effect until 3-01-20. We have now visited the park several times since then, and these limited camping spots are always in use and booked in advance.Thank you.

Water smelled horrible. No swimming spots. Bathroom was far from campsite. Not a very good place to camp on the lake.
