We enjoyed our visit. The campground was quiet with mostly adults. Our site had beautiful trees and great access to launch the kayak. The showers & restrooms were clean, but they do not supply soap in the restroom. For the reservation price, there should be soap to wash hands. It was inconvenient to remember to bring ours each time.Several sites were closed due to recent flooding.

Bring a boat, otherwise there is nothing much to do. Had site 35 which was the most isolated and backed into the calm water. Able to sit out and watch heron, osprey and bald eagles. Tried to go biking but there were so many loose dogs in the area just outside the park that it wasnt safe. Came back from town one day and found a boat tied up at our site, and we didnt bring one. Then after dark there were two men walking down the side of our camper! It turned out to be the two camp hosts, who told me that my site was the only one that have a good place to anchor a boat, so they use it. Needless to say it was inconsiderate and unsettling to have strangers walking through your camp site unannounced.

Was not impressed with the park at all. Out of all our camping adventures this park needs a lot of attention.

Our stay at Hanks Creek was picture perfect. We weathered the cold weather off the lake and saw the first snow for 2021 during our January stay. The host was extremely nice and even offered to help with whatever I needed. The park was clean, the lake was beautiful and I loved watching the birds and other fowl fly and swim along the lake. Can't wait to go back.

Always love to camp here. Clean and nice people running it. Just wish more places were opened up on off season. Jerry Coker
