As always, clean and spacious sites. Love the new picnic tables! 50 amp and water hookups worked well. Dump station was functioning and trash receptacles we're not over full.Camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

If only there were sewer service it would be perfect. But even with that, we had a great time and will come back again.

Hickory Creek is beautiful. There are a lot of open campsites close to the water. The bathrooms are always clean, and heated in the winter. The fishing is usually really good for catfish. The walking trails are pretty cool also. I have a handicap scooter and I love riding on the trails at night because you always see deer close to the path. I love army corps campgrounds the wildlife always seems like they know that they are protected, they’re leery of you but not skittish of you if you can understand that. The camping spots are far enough away from each other where you don’t feel like someone is breathing down your neck like a KOA camps. And I always run into very nice & interesting people out here.

This use to be a very well kept park that now has no supervision. There was no maintenance of the sites between bookings. Not once did I see a ranger or camp host the entire 4 days which resulted in loud and rowdy campers to the point that police arrived. Campers had no respect for others camp sites, pitched tents on others campsites. Children running around with bb guns shooting duck, wildlife and at each other.

I love this park. Always well maintained and clean. The wooded area is the best camp site in the area. Easy access to the lake. Great place for all ages.
