Great park in the middle of the DFW Metroplex. Just off I-35E on Lake Lewisville, this park has boat/lake access and a large number of high quality camping sites. Wildlife in the park, including white tail deer can be seen and heard. The only downside of this park is that there is no sewer hook-ups for sites, but a dump station is easy to access, both coming in and leaving the park. Reserve early because it is so close to and in the Metroplex.

Great. One of our favorite parks.

Hickory creek is a great campground! Even though itโ€™s right in the mix of the DFW Metroplex you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere when you get into the park. Good mix of open, treed and lake front sites. Food and supplies are only a few minutes away if you need to leave the park. Fully gated entrance, no day use and closed night hours keep park traffic to a minimum. Good hiking and biking trails. Well kept COE park.

This review is for site 109. It was close to a restroom and had nice trees and shade but I was expecting to be able to walk to the water and be able to swim. We were able to walk down a path to see the water but it wasnt accessible. The little path was nice to walk though. The park was very clean. The site next to us ended up having a large group of people show up by the end of the night and were pretty noisy until after 2am. They had 7 cars at their site by the time we tried to go to bed. The limit is supposed to be 3 cars. It just made it hard to get to sleep with a toddler. Over all we still had a good time. The loop was nice for my son to ride his bike around. We will try a spot closer to the water next time and hope we have better neighbors.
