Weve stayed at Hickory Creek a few times now, and were really enjoying it. It makes us close to family, and we can see that they live in Sangerlots of trees and lake lots.

We stayed in site 81 at Hickory Creek for New Years Eve and it was a great experience. Fellow campers were awesome and the park itself was clean and well kept. Now for the bad our fire ring was rusty and bent all up to the point I couldnt use it. No I didnt complain because we were only there for a couple of days but it was cleaned out and tidy and I would think the park staff that cleans it would take note and have it fixed. Looking forward to our next trip though. One of our favorites in the area!

Overall it was nice but there is no privacy at all. Campsites are wide open.

Hickory Creek is located in the middle of Lewisville, Tx, part of the greater Dallas metroplex, yet you wouldn't know it. It is close enough to I-35E to be convenient and big rig friendly, yet far enough away to where there is no traffic noise. There is occasional aircraft noise as it is due North of the DFW airport. Most of the back-in sites are on or near the lake, most of the pull-through are further inland. Most of the 104 sites have ample space to be comfortable and long enough for the RV and a vehicle. Being a Federal facility the Senior Park Pass cuts the daily fee in half, I paid $15 for W&E, no sewer but a dump is available. This park sells out fast so reservations are encouraged.

We loved this park. The grounds were well-maintained, the sites were fairly large, the bathrooms were clean, the views were pretty. I did not hear the freeway from our site (81) but you could see it, however it did not bother me at all. We saw several deer and birds. I would definitely recommend and, since we live in the area, we will be back. The campgrounds are tucked away in suburban area so nearby is everything you would ever need if you forget necessities or simply want to enjoy a dinner out. Also cell phone coverage and WiFi is strong.

As always, park hosts were very friendly. Hard to believe that you are just five minutes away from a major highway. Bathrooms are clean. Park is well maintained. We will definitely be back.
