We lived our stay at Hickory Creek. The camp hosts were incredible, the facilities were well cared for and the location was close to Dallas.

Absolutely beautiful. Check in was good. The only thing was I could not use our NPS Access Pass for a discount as I couldnt find it upon reservation and was told to have them give it to me at the gate. The attendant there said their credit card machine was down and she could not help with the discount. The site we stayed in was right on the lake and was beautiful!!

The campsites at this park are in good shape and provide some good views. It seems like a getaway in the middle of a large city. However, there are tons of ants and ant hills around the lots so be careful where you setup shade canopies and lawn chairs. Also, the front gate closes at 10 pm each night so if you are exploring the city outside of the park, you have to keep an eye on the clock if you want to get back to your campsite. This was frustrating for our trip as we came down there to visit family and friends in the area and we had to leave gatherings early to get back to the campsite.

Very nice site #48. A little bit windy at times, but we brought kites so it was great for us! We camp here often and this is one of our go to sites.

We truly love this place. One thing we dont like is the fact you have to be in by 10pm as the gate is locked. A gate with a passcode would be a great improvement.

Great Park!... Nice pull through sport by the lake. Grounds are very well kept. Park hosts are out and visible in their red sweatshirts. Clean bath houses. No issues whatsoever.

This is a busy campground. Most sites are closer together than some COE campgrounds I've been to, but are still much better spaced than an RV park.Great price for electric and water. Only 30 minutes from downtown Dallas, and 15 minutes from Denton Bucee's. Beware you can hear the freeway, especially emergency sirens. If that bothers you, might want to find a spot further away from the city.

The park is always clean and well maintained. Facility are clean. Security is visible. The lake is beautiful. Sites are large and level. Our favorite park in the area hands down.
