Had some hydrant leaking issues when fist got there but soon was fixed. Restrooms are clean and nice. Loved seeing all the deer and songbirds!! Best one we have been too in 2 years of traveling.

We love Hickory Creek campground!! Very beautiful and well maintained. Our one complaint is the 10:00 curfew. We're in town to visit family and friends and are finding it rather stressful to constantly be watching the time to make sure we get back to camp before being locked out for the night. Hard to image that in this day and age something can't be done about that - or maybe extend the time to later. I know that its manned by hosts so they wouldn't be pleased to have to work later, but how about a key code. We've been traveling for almost 2 years now and this is the very first campground we've ever encountered with a curfew. To me this implies that maybe the neighborhood isn't very safe.

We were there before and during the unforgettable snow and ice storm Feb 2021. The staff did an amazing job under the dire circumstances for those of us who had no place to go. We absolutely love this park and always enjoy our visits here.

We absolutely love this park and have camped here many times! Like most parks, there are a few sites that dont have shade and are just kind of out in the open, but the majority of their sites provide a very pleasant and shady place to spend a few days! The lake is accessible from many of the sites. The only complaint is that the Corps of Engineers has the gate set to close at 10 PM and theres no keypad for late entry, so you have to make sure you race back from an event or a late dinner to get there before the gate closes. Putting in a keypad for registered campers would be my only suggestion for this park.
