Hickory Creek is my go to. Im fairly new to rv camping and stay local for now. There are a lot of camping options within a 50 mile radius of me, but I prefer Hickory Creek. Most sites are large and many are water front. You cant beat the price either. A couple drawbacks are no playgrounds for the kids or a designated swim/beach area. Upgraded fire pits, picnic tables & grills need to be completed. Last year they closed down for 6 months so do these upgrades, but only maybe half or less have been completed. I love the 2:00 check out time and staff is great!

We have stayed at a different site in each of our 4 visits to Hickory Creek. Each one has been unique in its own way and very enjoyable. What a beautiful park and so close for everyone in the Metroplex!!

Spent two nights here visiting with fiends. The park is beautiful. Our site was level concrete. We plan to make it a regular for our local camping.

Arrived on Thursday to find someone with the same last name in my reserved site(#29). No one was at the site to contact. Gate attendant relocated us to their site (#39). Seemed fine for the remainder of the weekend then on Sunday (check out date) I received a call that I have stayed past the check out time and I needed to move. Told the person on the phone I left site #39 at 9 a.m. Told them of the Thursday situation and he apparently is the "boss" and was unaware of any changes. I followed up with a phone call later that day with the same person and he stated he got it all straightened out and to relocate the people in the #29. Also let me know that the gate attendant from Thursday was scolded for not getting it corrected that day and letting other be aware of the situation. We are due to go back this weekend to another site I will have all paperwork ready to show upon arrival. Overall this is one of our favorite campgrounds.
The Park at Hickory Creek is a beautiful place; however the staff at the gate could stand to be a bit more courteous. We made a reservation and paid for a site on the water that was situated perfect for our camper, but when we arrived someone else was in our spot. We went to the front gate and were told we had to pick a new spot. It seems curious that we had to chose a different site even though we had reservations for a certain site. After speaking to the front entrance workers twice I finally received an apology but was not offered any explanation or compensation for what can only be explained as their mistake. We had initially planned on extending our stay at this park but due to this error we no longer wanted to be here. It is worth noting that the park workers never offered to have the people that were in our spot move to the spot they actually paid for. Again seems curious. We had the reservation and yet somehow we were the ones that were inconvenienced. Our spot was changed and our trip plans changed due to this error. I feel like this could have been handled far better in numerous ways from the beginning. I also feel like that gate worker could have showed some remorse on their error for our inconvenience.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
