We came with our RV and stayed for a long weekend for our 38th wedding anniversary. Plenty of flat areas to walk and ride a bike. We did have one electrical service flux that required resetting breakers, but then re-set everything and it all went well.

Park was clean and bathrooms/shower houses were clean and well maintained. Wish Corp of Engineers would consider adding more camping spots with tables and shelter tops. There is plenty of shady areas available. Also, why do so few camping spots have sewers? The lady gatekeeper was AWESOME! (can't remember her name)

We had to pack up and move 3 campers twice because of flooding concerns. We booked new reservations at 3 campsites on higher ground and moved in the heat of the day. Then we had to mow all 3 sites because the grass was too tall for littles dogs to see over, just to spend 1 night and be told the following morning to pack up and leave again. We had an 82 and 77 year old parents with us who just wanted to enjoy relaxing and fishing. This was a horrible experience for all of us. I wish we would’ve just been told of the likelihood of closure again on the second move and we would’ve just left after the first closure notice. We were assured a full refund for our entire stay by the park, but did not receive any comped nights at all except for the remainder of the reservations. I realize mother nature cannot be controlled, but the insight of flooding from the corp of engineers would have been appreciated as I know they have the knowledge to predict these occurrences. I was notified by email before the staff at the park was notified by the corp. That is a seriously ridiculous way to operate a facility in my opinion. We most likely will not revisit proctor lake again in the near future.
