Great campground! Many sites on the water. Close to the golf course. Most sites are level and have gravel with small portions of concrete. Restrooms were clean and well-maintained. Camp employees were very friendly and stopped in to check on us regularly.

Enjoyed our visit to Copperas Creek. Beautiful park.
Have a suggestion concerning Recreation.gov.
Many folks, primarily seniors, are uncomfortable doing on-line reservations. After having a great deal of difficulty myself attempting to reserve a site at Copperas, I came to the park and asked the attendant if there were any sites available for the evening. The attendant told be that he has no way of telling me which sites might be available and that I'd have to reserve one myself with Recreation.gov. Told him I'd been unable to do a reservation on my cell phone. He then called a park ranger and found there was a site I could have and after he told me the number of the site I was able to accomplish the on-line reservation.
Is it no longer possible for COE gate attendants to query their park's reservation status and then assign an available site to a potential guest? Or is this just a matter of poor training for an individual gate attendant?

We all had a great time. We will go back soon!We had a blast! Really Windy! Didn’t care we had fun any way! Riding bikes, talking so we could hear each other. So we rode yelled and laughed. We were fishing! Not catching, but fishing! We had so much fun. We will be back soon!

The park and lake are beautiful. Campsites are just as described. Restrooms kept clean and stocked.

The 14 days that we (my wife & Jake (the cat) spent at Copperas Creek CG was very good, the Weather was good and we got to meet some very nice people. This is about the 20th time that we have stayed their its almost like our 2nd home., my only complaint is having to make reservations which means we don't get to stay as often as we used to.
