we were only there over night. It was rainy and cold. We look forward to coming back when we have more time and the weather is better.

Canyon Lake in severe drought condition - lower than ever experienced in 40 years. Reservations by Recreation .com very satisfactory.check-in and check-out staff at the lake very satisfactory. cold-windy weather and condition of lake resulted in early departure.

We have been camping at Potters Creek for many years. This is the first time I have given the overall rating 1 star. The Camp Host, campsite and park are great!! The problem we had was with one of the US Army Corps of Engineer (Ranger?). We had brought our UTV to take the grandkids for a scenic ride outside of the park. The Gate Host was extremely nice and gave us a parking tag for the UTV, boat, trailer, and vehicles. About an hour after check in the Host came to the campsite where the UTV was parked and informed us that she had made a mistake and after a very friendly discussion informed us that we could not use the UTV in the park. The UTV had been unloaded off the trailer, but NOT driven. We agreed to take it home the next day, since we had already started our BBQ. The next morning two men showed up and were extremely aggressive toward my son accusing him of driving the UTV. He was in my son's face as my son was telling him we had already said we were taking it back home. He then accused my son of driving it through the park. COMPLETE LIE!!. The ATV had NOT moved or even been started. I was infuriated that this man was in my sons face making accusations for something that had already been resolved. There WAS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for these men to enter our campsite as we were getting ready to take it home. Please get this Ranger some counseling.

Every site is spacious with a beautiful view of the lake! Restrooms and showers are clean with plenty of room. On Loop 4, the sites not on the water offer plenty of shade.

Not allowing patterns in park, not even one moment before check in time, even when your spot is empty is insulting! I have never been shut out like this before. Out of my fourty + years of camping I have never had a check in window shut in my face.

Site: 103. Easy to back into. Level. Good satellite and TV reception. Decent Bathhouse about 150 yards away. Expansive campground on a pretty reservoir. Saw gray fox, jack rabbits, and many deer

Very nice park. They have a strict rule to not allow registration before 3pm. You will park outside the gate until then. The lock the gate at 10 pm so there is no re-entry until 8 am the next morning if you miss curfew. Sites are nice with water and electric but no sewer. There is a dump station nearby.

Very nice park. Friendly staff. Spacious spots. Right on the water. We were there all week and enjoyed having it all to ourselves. :) It filled up for the weekend. No sewer hookup, you must use the dump station. Lots of the spots are hard to get into because of the angle of the spots. Luckily there was no one right across from us when we checked in so we were able to use that space. And our pad had a dip in the middle that made the hitch bind and wouldn't allow us to unhitch. Had to pull the pin and drop the ball. There are stores restaurants not far from the park. Overall, it's a nice park and we'll go back.

Suffered $2200 damage to our car due to incorrectly-placed and ill-thought-out location of wooden posts near the parking slab for site 103. These 6x6 x 2 feet tall posts are on the left side of the site. They can't be seen over the hood of the car. They serve no functional or aesthetic purpose. My wife drove into one and it shredded the left front end of our car. We've camped at many TX state parks and they do not have these useless posts lining their sites.

Gatekeeper needs a reality check has worked there to long not a friendly person to be greeting campers kind of sets the negative mood even before entering campground. Me and my wife won't be back
