Beautiful park. Lake is extremely low. Close to hill country, etc….. Never been to a campground that requires vehicle pass to exist the park as well as enter.

Got to park at 2:05. Couldn’t check in due to not being 3:00. I understand there are rules and this is the check in time. No problem. Check out is 2:00. 3-5 people left during the time I and 5 others were waiting to check in. A bit silly not to let people go ahead and check in during this time. Would make life easier on employees and guest to cut back on wait time. However, rules are rules. I get it. We turn around at gate and park to let my 15 month old daughter eat lunch and unhook our tow vehicle. I not knowing parked in the wrong spot (thought I was doing right as it was filling up where other campers were parking). I was told I had to move to the other side of the gate 15 feet from where I was. Holding hard fast to the rules, I’m good with moving. I ask if I can wait 10 minutes to let my daughter finish eating. (Not blocking any traffic, no fire lane, anything.) Nope, was told I had to move right then. The host got so upset about it she stormed off yelling at my family and I. Seemed very silly and unnecessary. The park is nice and well maintained. But if you want to go and enjoy your time start to finish get to park after three. Good luck out there.

The location of the park was beautiful. Large sites, clean bathrooms, quiet and lots of deer. We loved the park and would have given 5 stars, but the young dark haired camp host/gate attendant was extremely rude and our bike was stolen from our campsite. When we advised the office they didn't seem concerned or surprised, just advised us to contact the police. Another campsite also had items stolen the same night. Make sure everything is locked.
