We've been to this park many times and always enjoy the large, paved sites and views.

Very good camp site, you feel safe by how close people are. You also get to shower which is great. The only down side is, the bathrooms are kinda far, even with a disability, some of the disability spots are kinda far from the bathroom. So make sure if you have a disability, get a spot close to the bathroom or you'll have to go a bit of a distance which can be a lot for someone with a disability.

Great family fun. Grass needed to be cut. Unfortunately, due to drought, the water was extremely low this year.

Water was beautiful and the bathrooms are really nice. There are no hiking or biking trails despite what I saw on the website.

Wonderful campground. Sites were big and lots of space between sites. Only thing I didn't like was being so strict not be there before 3pm to check in and gate closing at 9am. I suggest getting a coded gate so you don't have to leave vehicle outside gate and walk to your site. Site can be a long way away.

Excellent park!
Sites have patio and covered picnic table.
Excellent proximity and view of the water. Quiet yet close to grocery, gasoline and restaurants.
Keep in mind, you can exit anytime but cannot re-enter the campground after 9pm.

Very pretty area, campsites well taken care of. Outside loop furthest away from lake are more private with great view. Closest to lake are wide open, no trees, pretty exposed. Busy with boats, kayaking and families. Quiet hours not always respected, but not loud.

Sites were close together in our loop, uneven and provided little privacy. Aside from that, we lived the park and enjoyed the hiking.

Very large campsite, clean restroom and showers. We really enjoyed the fact that the park was gated, we walk everyday and it was very relaxing with no traffic. The park has about five miles of roads.
The sunrise and sunsets were incredible!
We also enjoyed Guadalupe River State Park about a half hour drive away.
The history about the flood in 2002 was also very interesting, go to the canyon lake dam for details.

The person who checked was very rude We got there at 2:30 and And check in time is 3:00 and she made us leave the park completely and said we could wait at Brookshire parking lot for the 30 minutes before check in. She said if we wanted to come on into the park she would charge us another night for the 30 minutes that we were early. Seriously! We have never been treated so horrible in all the years we have stayed in Corp parks. She needs to have sensitivity training and have compassion on people who drive for hours to get there not knowing exactly how long the trip would take. To check in 30 minutes early is something weve done hundreds of time. We were very upset to be treated this way. Please retrain her on customer service.

We have stayed at several Corp of Engineers parks and usually the hosts and gate people are pleasant and help full , notso at Potters Creek. The man at the gate don't belong there he is grumpy unhappy , do not ask a question you will get somekind of sarcastic remark , maybe I am over critical but this guy must have some serious problems held inside. Since it was offseason [ Christmas week ] did not see park patrol of any kind , never saw so many big dogs and people did not pickup after them. The showers and restrooms did not appear to get cleaned , I was told they are cleaned twice a week , but I saw the same dirtand hair in the shower every day. These maybe short comings of off season , One warning to pass on is don't show up early noentrance till three o'clock and you can not park out side the gate grumpy will have you hauled off , we were instructed to leave corp property and park some where down the road. Its tough to calculate exact arrival time when you drive all day!On the plus side the lake is beautiful , lots to see in the area a must do is the park and scenic look out above the dam.

We have been full-time RVers for 15 years and stay in COE campgrounds whenever they are available because they are typically better than most commercial parks. But we will never go to Potters Creek again and do not recommend anyone else visit. The workers and especially the gate attendants were rude and unpleasant. In talking to other campers in the park we found that almost everyone else had experiences similar to ours. The sad part is that the park itself is very nice. It is remote and quiet with spacious, level sites. The bathhouse was one of the nicest we have ever seen in a COE campground.

The camp site was clean, far enough from neighbors to be quiet and lots of lake front for walking and enjoying the sunset and the gorgeous sunrise. Just a weekend but totally worth it.
