My first visit to this picturesque park started a little rocky, I arrived a day early. The gate attendant was a very helpful gentleman, we resolved my silliness with few hiccups and a well marked map to my new home for the next 13 days, oops make that 14. All the support staff I came in contact with worked hard to make sure the park was as safe, clean and enjoyable as humanly possible, even for the non-humans .
The site was just right for lovely views, short hop to the bathroom, plenty of mature trees, everything is well maintained and cleaned often.
The sites were a bit snug but all of my neighbors, mostly families, were very good campers, respectful of others and the environment.
My dog took me for miles of walks to follow deer, raccoon, squirrel, mole, mice even egret tracks and anyone else that had passed by. I always do my bit to help clean up the planet, most of the trash I found was off the beaten path or where the waterline had receeded, but I filled a grocery bag or more each time I was walked. While I understand the logistics to having 6 dumpsters in a row next to the dump station, we lazy humans would benefit from spreading the wealth of receptacles around the park. We all love to live in clean homes, so do all the other species we share this one home with, let's be better home "owners" and neighbors.
I will visit again, recommend it to others, and even book during spring break (by accident) again. The fun grandma and Woolfy thank all the volunteers that make the parks hum like a well greased gear, I hope for more of you!
