Park was nice. Sites were well spaced and paved. Restrooms were non existent. They were either locked, plugged or closed due to water leaks. That was the biggest negative.Volunteers were friendly and helpful.Town has lots of restaurants and music on Fridays.

Super clean, nice distance between camping spots, cement picnic tables and beautiful wildlife. We travel between Lubbock and Houston often and definitely plan on staying again.

We had a private spot by the lake which was quiet. The gate attendant was good and very friendly. Only negative is the bathrooms are a little far from the sites on this loop.

Large park to view lots of wildlife! Nice drive to Abilene Zoo and Golden Corral (yum).Sites are real nice. Quite windy in Dec everyday. Gender separate Bathrooms/Showers are a distance from most sites.

Hords Creek has always been a favorite for us. This was our first time camping for Thanksgiving and we enjoyed every minute. The campground is always so well taken care of and we love the deer visiting near the sites. Looking forward to next time!

Our first time here and it did not disappoint! We hope to come back often. Very peaceful and serene surrounded by lots of nature. The only downside is the lack of sewer hook ups at our campsite. While we could have chosen a site that offered this amenity, we would have had to sacrifice the view. We did especially like the concrete border surrounding the picnic table at each campsite along with the cover over the picnic table. Unfortunately, Flat Rock is closed during the Fall and Winter months so we were unable to view these campsites.

Camp sites were great. Clean and well layed out. We had distance between us and other campers. Facilities were in good repair. Only a short drive to Coleman if you need or forget something . We plan on going back as soon as possible.

This is a very nice, quiet park. We love it and try to return several times a year. It is very clean, however the bathrooms do need so work and maintenance.
