We selected this park because it was a halfway point between where we were and where we were going, and because we had never been here before. The paved sites are very spacious, with live oak trees, a covered picnic area, fire pit and standing bbq grill. Our particular site was waterfront to the small lake there and had water and electric (no sewer) hookups. They do have full hookups here, but we chose to be close to the lake instead, as we only stayed 3 nights. We met Chuck at the entrance station; he was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we have more time.

Very peaceful in the middle of February. Deer and coyotes roaming around. Lake level has been very low for a few years so no water activities allowed.

WE love going here. great place. No ones fault but it was dry, and had to deal with possible evacuation due to wild fires.

This is probably the saddest park I've seen in TX. I wish Texas Parks and Wildlife would take it over and fix it up. It has incredible potential, but is SO poorly designed. Bath houses are so limited and very inconsistent in their locations. SO many of the camping loops require a HIKE to get to the bathrooms/showers if you want to use them. The main dump station was out of commission and it required us trying to find an empty full hook up site that was empty on a Saturday to dump before we left. All the other dump stations were to hard to get to and would be "backwards" to the direction we would be coming from and there were no places to turn around. CRAZY!!! Some sites had smoker type grills, others were just a metal plate on a stand. Some had nothing. Some picnic tables were metal, some were concrete and need replacing. It was nice that all picnic tables had a cover over them. If I lived near it, I would still use it, but would fight for the full hook ups close to bathrooms. But who designs a bathroom with NO SINKS to wash your hands???? Again - CRAZY!!

I'm an amateur astronomer, the dark skies in this park rival the skies found farther west. The facilities are well maintained and the fishing was great in the early evening. I can't imagine a better place to see a meteor shower or spend time looking at the evening skies. This year I have made 3 trips to this site and will return again. It is within easy driving distance of Coleman, TX and Brownwood.

Been coming here for years first time at this site really like the shade and the water access -easy to back inPhone signal weak but who needs a phone out here. Loved it trying the space next to it in a couple of weeks. We thought we had a favorite spot but now we know we need to try others.

We absolutely loved our visit. The parking spacious and easy to back into. Our camp area was right on the water, quiet, clean and well maintained. We were able to enjoy the local wildlife walking around and lots of fun fishing. Great place! Looking forward to coming back soon.
