This is one our favorite parks within easy driving distance. The restrooms and showers were cleaned up nicely since the last visit but the park needed mowing but that got done before we left. Nothing but taking care of the entry gate and confirming reservations is handled by the hosts on site. Everything else is contracted out and we all know the job goes to the low bidder. Our big complaint is that no one is allowed to come into a camping site until check-in time even if the site is vacant. Weve been turned away even when its an hour before check-in. No reason for it.

Nice spot but the tree needs some lower branches removed. My antenna was stuck in the branch so i couldnt rotate it to get a good signal.

Beautiful park - all the sites are well maintained and gorgeous !! We go for at least 4 weeks every summer -

Nice, well kept facility. Volunteer help was very friendly and knowledgeable at the gate. Liked that you could still get to the campground after hours with the combination lock at the second gate.

Nice site on the lake which easy access to the water close to Brenham. We always stay here and make a daytime visit to downtown Brenham to eat the best club sandwich I have ever had at 30 North followed by a stroll through down town and a stop off at Ballard of the Bird Dog for a coffees, milkshakes for the kids, and of course to see Mac, Rye, and Ruby!

Campsite was level. We had a lakeside location. We went with a group and it was very nice. I hope to visit there again.

Was approached about speeding on 3 separate occasions despite only driving the speed limit. If it is desired for drivers to go slower, the speed limit signs should be changed to reflect this desire.

Love Rocky Creek! Staff is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Campground is well maintained. Bathrooms are clean. Lake is beautiful. Wishing I was beside a campfire watching the sunset right now.

In accord with postings and information, the campground staff was very disciplined in holding to the 3PM check-in time when we arrived o/a 1:45 PM. Even entry to empty and rinse holding tanks was denied at this earlier than check-in time. The staff was very pleasant in informing us about this policy. In my humble opinion, the park was not busy when we returned at 3 PM for check-in and it seems that if the site was reserved and not occupied, we could have been afforded the courtesy of checking-in slightly ahead of posted procedures. Otherwise we really enjoyed the stay.

The park looked great. First night there sat through the biggest storm ever. Early next morning the park crew had completed clean up. I will be back.

Rocky Creek on Lake Somerville is a beautiful park. I'm excited to see more of the park opening up soon. Campsites were clean. Park staff was friendly.
I had a run in with a tree stump - totally my own fault. I was pulling my truck forward to straighten my trailer out and totally forgot about it and I couldn't see it from inside my truck. Make sure you look around your site before pulling in and watch out for them as there were a lot of trees lost in the back to back years of flooding and so there are a LOT of tree stumps.
I was in campsite 58. AT&T service was 2-4 bars. Not sure why so much fluctuation, but I was able to get online with my phone hotspot and check email and even stream a movie one night.
