Great park and friendly staff. We always enjoy watching the deer running around.

The previous page did not allow me to select any stars. I would give our experience 5 Stars. The campsites were clean and free of weeds, trash and insects. The amenities were in good working order and the staff at the gate were very friendly.

Great place to stay! If you like to fish, you can do so from the shore or by boat if you have one. Lots and lots of deer. Nice walking path. A lot of the park was closed. Some of it I think was closed because of time of year but not sure. We were there late Nov. The Texas Cotton Gin was a great tour. Blue Bell Creamy isn't too far either.

Rocky Creek is an excellent Corps park along Somerville Lake with sites widely spaced and excellent lakefront and lakeview spaces. The campground hosts are some of the best we've met, working tirelessly to keep the place beautiful and being so very helpful (especially Tom!). This is in an area filled with the history of the Texas War of Independence from Mexico, lots to see and do here.
It is very unfortunate that the park bathhouses, which are beautiful, have huge screened walls on each end so in the winter the wind blows through and makes them useless. It would be so simple to put shutters up there to have them closed in winter, open in summer. It is also unfortunate that whoever installed the plumbing for the bathhouses did not expect a week-long freezing snap, so nearly all pipes froze.
