The previous page did not allow me to select any stars. I would give our experience 5 Stars. The campsites were clean and free of weeds, trash and insects. The amenities were in good working order and the staff at the gate were very friendly.

Had a wonderful time!!! Site was beautiful!! We will definitely be back. It was quite a change watching people forge for their own firewood. We are use to being at state parks where it is strictly forbidden. Our neighbors were nice and very respectful. It was so quiet and dark at night. Good place to see the stars. We have already booked a return trip.

Nice park with great camp hosts but beware the Fire Ants and the Stickers.Numerous fire ant mounds around our campsite, but I didn't notice any on the wood I moved until my hand started burning. It took a full week of Benadryl & Pepcid (histamine blocker) tablets along with Cortizone/Benadryl cream to recover from their bites.

Nice COE park with great camp hosts, lots of deer and bald eagles. Some area's are closed to due previous flooding.Dog hazards: Burrs along the roads and various places in the grass, and the pavement in our loop was so rough it hurt our dogs paws.Be aware the camp hosts are typically available at the gate from 2-4pm (check in 3pm), so if arriving early you may not be able to get in and find the gate locked.

Great place to stay! If you like to fish, you can do so from the shore or by boat if you have one. Lots and lots of deer. Nice walking path. A lot of the park was closed. Some of it I think was closed because of time of year but not sure. We were there late Nov. The Texas Cotton Gin was a great tour. Blue Bell Creamy isn't too far either.

Rocky Creek is an excellent Corps park along Somerville Lake with sites widely spaced and excellent lakefront and lakeview spaces. The campground hosts are some of the best we've met, working tirelessly to keep the place beautiful and being so very helpful (especially Tom!). This is in an area filled with the history of the Texas War of Independence from Mexico, lots to see and do here.
It is very unfortunate that the park bathhouses, which are beautiful, have huge screened walls on each end so in the winter the wind blows through and makes them useless. It would be so simple to put shutters up there to have them closed in winter, open in summer. It is also unfortunate that whoever installed the plumbing for the bathhouses did not expect a week-long freezing snap, so nearly all pipes froze.

Had a really nice camping experience. Great park if you enjoy watching the deer and other wildlife. Close to several small towns for fun site seeing trips and convenient if you need to pick up supplies. Sites are clean and level. Restrooms and showers were clean. Have already booked reservations for the spring.
