One day we came in from fishing, putting our fish into two ice chests on ice planning to clean the next day. one ice chest with about 10 crappie in it was made of styrofoam. that night racoons ate a hole in the ice chest. No need to explain the rest of this story.

We had huge ant mounds all over our camp site and the lockable room showers had leaves and trash in them. We said something about it, and they were cleared of trash and leaves but were still really nasty. A splash of bleach couldve went a long way. Not fun when you are tent camping. Everything else was great.

Sites near the waters edge have beautiful views. Other sites in the park are well equipped and easy to access. Well marked from the highway exit.

This was our 2nd stay at Rocky Point and find the campgrounds to be just wonderful. Waterfront spots are picturesque and the park is clean with nice facilities and good space between spots. Easy dump station location on exit with all the parts too. Booked a 3rd trip there before we left.

First time (and last time) visiting this campground. It was pouring rain when we got there and hosts made me stand at the window with rain dripping down my back while we checked in (there was an office space). I was given no map, no offer to show us the site. Had to drive my tow car around to find it first because can't take the motor home down the wrong road. Site was ok on the river. Restrooms were dirty. The Park was generally not clean. Small trash everywhere. The host couple was not friendly. We are also hosts for the USACE in other states and can't believe how this park was run. We visited Piney Point a short distance away and it was wonderful! We will stay there if we are in that area again. The host there, Peggy, was a friendly person and the park looked like those hosts cared about it.

Electrical failure. There was no notice given in advance. We would have changed plans even at the last minute if we had known. Notice came by email the next morning! Iām sure it was weather related but why no notice?

Spectacular views of the lake with plenty of room in the site and between sites. Plenty of space to walk your dog, and even watch the deer. Roads are narrow in spots but plenty of room to back in your rig. Sit and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets over the lake.

This was so beautiful! Totally worth our drive. We were overlooking the most gorgeous lake and facility had everything the kids could want. The caretakers are thorough any spots were sufficient for what we needed.
Older park to say the least, but surprisingly well-maintained. Clean bathhouse sanitized daily. Our site was a paved back-in waterside and therefore highly sloped front to back, but was good side to side. Beautiful views and very quiet mid-week. Definitely on our list for return visits. Some sites have full hook-ups, bit very few.

We had a wonderful camping experience at Rocky Point. We did the 4 mile Dam walk. It was a Dam nice view! We found several Dam benches for relaxing moments watching birds and the Dam Spillway. The next day after our Dam walk we hiked to Piney Point. Another enjoyable walk through the park!
Friendly park staff at both campgrounds!
