The sites were nice. The view of Wright Patman Lake was outstanding. So many loblolly pines, just beautiful. There is a boat ramp, playground for kids, a few short walking trails. Camp host was nice. There are also 3 fishing cabins that can be rented. Spring Lake Park is nearby and is a great place to walk around, picnic, watch waterfowl, walk your dogs. We also went into Texarkana. The downtown area could use some sprucing up, but we enjoyed lunch at Pecan Point Gastropub & Brewery and were allowed to take our two pups in with us in the Tap Room.

We opted for a water view site rather than a full hook-up site; full hook-up sites were in the trees. Nice, but not on the water. We had a nice back-in site with a full side view of the water. Nice afternoon shade too. Mostly quiet except some kids jet skiing out in front of us (they were camping nearby). And a few campfire talkers on the weekend up beyond quiet hours. There were a couple hiking trails, but it was cooler walking through the campground closer to the water. Our campsite, B-12, was fairly level. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice campground with gravel pads…long way to bathrooms/showers if you aren’t right by them (I know that sounds peculiar, but no “shortcuts” through wooded/long grass to get to them) pretty quiet as it seems (maybe) local folks leave RV/trailers there for weekend ‘dibs’ …great place to stay if you are heading to Austin area…

We stayed right on the water where we could easily put our kayaks into the lake. The view was beautiful, the park was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

What a great COE park. We only were passing thru so it was a one night stay. We had site B12 overlooking the lake it was beautiful.. If we had more time we would have stayed longer. Also used the dump site. With the America the beautiful access card it was only $14 a night water and 50 AMP.
