I have been to this park several times with a group we camp with often. We love the park for quick get-a-ways with it being close to home. On this trip, we had the clear dead tree limbs from our sites, and then we had to mow the four spots we had booked because the grass was so tall. The park attendant said there was some issue with the contract for the grass cutting. After we mowed our spots and got camp set up, we constantly heard tree limbs breaking off and falling to the ground around us, which caused concern for the large dead limbs above the RV's, and the fact that we were all sitting under the shade of the trees. I don't think I have ever been on a camping trip where we had to discuss and escape plan if you hear tree limbs breaking above you.

The camp itself was great! It was quiet at night and was very clean. The bathrooms were well maintained, which is one thing I always look for. The only thing that I wish was better, there was no place to fish other than right under the bridge and there was a lot of debris to hang up in. The highway was a little close and with the bridge cut down to 1 lane, there was a lot of stop and start noise. It was a little hard to sleep the first night because of it.

We love the large size sites at Kimball Bend, the trees are beautiful and the boat ramp is easy to navigate. We do wish there were sewer hookups and wifi capable. We had a great weekend stay and even though the park was pretty full, everyone was respectful and kind. It would also help if there was light in the restroom/shower facility. But it's a plus to have those amenities.
