The site was in really bad shape. Due to so much wood scrap on the shore you couldnt get to the water. Bathrooms were not very clean. This campground needs a lot of work to get it back up to shape.

Loved our stay at this site. It was quiet and peaceful, lots of wildlife, and the lake was beautiful. The only downside is there are no sewer hookups at the individual sites, but at least there was a dumping station on the premises. Will definitely visit again in the future.

all though its a nice campground but out dated. The roads are too narrow and backing into a spot will challenge the best of you The drop off by the side of the and sites are steep so be careful. The bathrooms also need to be updated. Now for some good. The water views are nice and there are plenty of wild life of birds and deer. Its also close to Nashville,

If you are handicapped, do not book here. We’ve had 2 stays, both which were not handicap advisable…both had very narrow pad, jagged, crumbling blacktop, to step off RV was a 2 ft drop.

Staff is rude, and that is another story entirely. The lady handed me a paper explaining left column was available to sty fist night, then 2nd column with ā€œTā€ above them were available to book rest of week, told us to drive around and see which one was good for 1st night. We did, found a suitable site, moved there. When I called office next morning, having mapped out the 2 times we’d have to move sites to complete our vacation/work week there, she immediately started yelling at me, said I lied to her, said we promised her we’d stay on original site 1st night. Told us to vacate site immediately, I told her ok and I’d be at the office shortly. Her husband was banging on the door before I got off the call, telling my husband we had to leave site right now…… she threatened to call park ranger. I said no need, we will NEVER be back after being treated so hostile and dishonest. It’s not how I was raised and I would never treat anyone that way, especially calling them a liar multiple times…….

Then to top it all off, she did not cancel our reservation, which was booked under my handicap pass card. This made us pay full price at the next campground, as card was still attached to their booking.😔Beware if you book!

Although the campground is lovely and the view from #58 was amazing, the pad was awful. It was too narrow and almost impossible to get out of. We are hoping that improvements are coming to that site but would definitely choose a different spot at this campground!

We had the gorgeous site of number 58 reserved, but it was impossible for us to get our rig backed in there, so we sadly had to be moved to a different site. The camp hosts were super friendly and helpful. Tons of deer on your way in. If CoE that run that area could make those few gorgeous spots more accessible to big rigs it would be great.

Site 58 very narrow and long. just barely got our 32 ft trailer on it. We had to drive off edge of road to back it in. It's a great big site but lots of people walking their dogs all over it. Trash truck will wake you up every Monday and Thursday mornings at 5:30 a.m.

Restrooms were clean. RV sites reasonably spaced. Some are a little tight with a larger camper or RV. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We had reserved site 58 and were excited as it was directly on the water. Upon arrival, we were advised that our 40 RV would not fit into the site. After inspecting the road and entrance to the site, we agreed with the representative that there was no way we would fit. The representative offered us an alternative site (not on the water). We accepted it and got set up there. However we then found out that this alternate site was on available for one of the two nights we had planned to stay. So the following day we had to move to another site. We never did receive a refund for the difference in the cost of the sites. The park was beautiful and we hope to visit again. But this inconvenience and disappointment soured this trip.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. It is only about 5 - 10 minutes from home but gives me a different look of Old Hickory Lake. The downside is that it is very crowded right now and it is hard to get my favorite site. Great site for kayaking.

This park is in the worst shape of any Corps of Engineer park I've ever seen. The spot we were in, #15, was so narrow, you couldn't fit the camper on it and get the steps on the pad also. The picnic table was a rotting hunk that looked like it was from the civil war. The shower room and restrooms were horrible. The women's "handicap" toilet stall wasn't lockable. Get your tetanus shot before going here because everything in the women's restroom is coated with rust. Too bad I can't attach pictures, 'cause I've got them...

Sadly the campground was closed for COVID-19 during the time we wanted to stay. I went into my reservation and requested a refund, and received the refund quickly. If you have not yet been refunded for your stay automatically, you can definitely go to your reservation details and request the refund and you will get it. Hope that is helpful to my fellow campers who also missed out on their campground reservations in May. I believe they are opened back up as of June 1st, so I have made some other reservations and am looking forward to trying this campground out! =)

The campgrounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little tricky backing the RV into our campsite, but a very helpful neighbor helped us out. Sunset over the lake was breathtaking.
