The waterfront sites are very nice and roomy. Campground well kept and just a nice place to get away. The only drawback are the restrooms which need updating. There is no ventilation in the restrooms and with 90 degree heat and high humidity, the air inside was stifling. Also contributes to moldy shower curtains and shower stalls. This definitely needs addressed soon.

Always enjoy our camping experience here. Bathrooms could use some updating

Site 15 was very tight for us in our 27ft trailer (30 with tongue). We were between two trees, so we were unable to use the awning. If the tree at the back of the site was not there, we could have backed further off the pad and avoided the tree in the front. Not a huge issue if it hadn't been a rainy weekend. The site would be fine for a shorter camper or one with a smaller awning.

Overall, we like the campground. My family had a lot of fun fishing and it's a nice quiet spot, especially so close to town.

We will be coming back, just not at site 15.

Nice lake front camp sites. Great trees and shade. No firewood for sale. No fire pits (BBQ grates were available). No separate tent only area to my knowledge. Nice grassy shore. No sandy beaches that I know of close by. Showers need some cleaning, and are older. Nice level tent places on gravel with permanent round table. No generator noise that I noticed. A lot of seaweed in water near site 15. Friendly staff.

Don't camp here. We love a lake spot and I kayak a lot We stayed on lot 15, a nice lake spot, but very large rocks at the shore line which made it hard to bring in a boat or board a kayak. Old Hickory Lake is a very shallow lake and has a lot of grass and algae growing which makes it not boater friendly. We stayed 4 nights and had another reservation for July but will not be back. My truck's alternator went out right as we were preparing to leave and by the time we got it replaced and everything loaded to leave it was 25 minutes past check out time. The camp host was very rude and insisted I must be out by 2pm. I tried hard but the timing of the truck repair was not good. I wish he, the host, had been more understanding instead of being upset and rude. Anyway, I would not recommend this campground. A lot of turkey vultures around the campground also... not a pleasant sight! In 20 years of camping I have never left a bad review, but this time I had to do it.

We had a wonderful time at this campground. It was very easy for us to setup our camper and totally enjoy the weekend. Our site was waterfront, so very easy to fish right from the bank. This is a smaller park , so very quiet and pleasant. It is also very close to Nashville, if wanting to do some sightseeing while in the area. We would definitely recommend to others.

had a great time at Cages Bend. Nice views of the water with a lake side site. Only issue I can think of are the unmarked culverts that can't be seen from the driver's seat when backing into a site. They are necessary, yet have deep drop offs that would put a truck down on it's chassis. Some sites have culverts right where the passenger side front tire would go to get turned into the site. For us, were warned about that issue by another camper just up the hill who had seen that happen to many at that same site. Thanks for a good stay!

We were so excited about our stay at Cages Bend. We had never been able to get a spot there and by watching closely, we finally got a spot on the water. Spot #15. The site gave requirements as far as camper size, which we met. However, when we got there, our camper fit in the drive fine but because of all the trees that are so close to the drive, we had to choose to open our slides or our awning. Of course, we chose our slides over our awning. Our 4-year-old grandson experienced his first camping/fishing trip. Because the shoreline was so covered with debris, each time he pulled in his line, we had to untangle it from high grass, or rocks, or washed up debris. The setup of this park seems extremely nice, but there does need to be some trees removed and the shoreline cleaned up. We were not the only people fishing experiencing some difficulties.
