Beautiful campground! Defeated Creek is a large campground with many well spaced campsites. It is very well maintained with very nice facilities! The bathrooms are great!

This place is manicured like a golf course! It’s absolutely beautiful. Most sites have an awesome lake view, the bathrooms are super clean and some fixtures seem to be new, some sites have full hookups and… wait for it… no noise after 9pm. We’re going back. My only complaint is the lack of a campground store and nowhere is there a Defeated Creek sticker!

Defeated Creek is my favorite campground. I share this with a many other campers as it is not easy to get your favorite site at all times. Be patient and plan at the six month window . Really there are no bad sites, I've camped at 13 next to the dump at the point and had just as good a time at my favorites. Everything is keep very clean due to a terrific staff of workers. This is a big campground and on a busy weekend resembles a small city but it has the most friendly folks . My wife and I have camped here for over ten years and have never had a bad neighbor. If you camp along the lake on the point or the sites facing the dam stake everything down, watch out for an occasional big wind that will shred canopy's and awnings. I hate to include this with this review because it's not the Corp's mission but it's my main concern. Cordell Hull Lake is the most polluted Lake I kayak in in Tennessee. I'm not talking about drift wood of which there is plenty of, but household garbage found in every cove around the campground. I've pulled just about everything you can thing of out of the water from lp tanks, old tires, whiskey bottles and even a small fridge, My guess is folks are dumping trash into the Cumberland from as far as Wolfe creek and it winds up at Cordell Hull. I realize groups of volunteers try to keep the area trash free but the scale of the clean up and the ability to get to where the trash is needs a regular effort from boats that can get to the trash trapped off shore that eventually winds up on the shoreline. The source of the dumping needs to be resolved from the river shoreline up stream and stopped.
