Parked near the swimming hole which was great since we had grandkids part of the trip. Friends rented a pontoon which was an enjoyable day. We love to ride our bikes around the campground, but the bike trail near the pavilion needs repair. I appreciate that a local minister comes to do Sunday morning service but was quite dismayed at his reference to Covid as a little ole virus that shouldn’t scare people of faith. I do wish people were better about cleaning up after their dogs. The lack of cell service can be frustrating, but we know which bathhouses have good service, so we bike there to complete any necessary calls. Defeated Creek is our favorite campground.

We have been going to Defeated Creek for 15 to 20 years now. We raised our puppy visiting Defeated. She loved it. We lost her in March of this year, 4 years old. Wasn't quite the same trip without her. We don't have any complaints, we love it there. There is one thing tho' and it seems to be a complaint of quite a number of people. It is the phone signal you get there. (Verizon) Have heard rumors for years that they are going to put new tower up so people can receive a signal. If you get hurt, sick etc. you have to run up and down the roads, over the hills trying to get a signal. It is a safety matter. The park is such a beautiful, wonderful place for family gatherings. People come from all over the US to visit the park. If the park had WiFi, it would be 100%. We also like Gunter Hill Corp park in Montgomery, AL. We stop off their going to Gulf Shores. Have met folks that have traveled to TN to Defeated Creek. Our camping days ae nearing the end and have enjoyed all of our visits to Defeated. Have met some great people there and became long time friendship with several of the couples.

Please think about the phone issue, a new tower, would be a great thing. I'm sure the residents around the area would like to see a tower go in for their service.

Thank you for your consideration.

Life-long campers.
