This is an amazing place. We call it our summer home by the lake. Always have a great time. Hard to get a lakefront spot.

Lovely, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the view. No Internet or tv available unless you bring your own satellite.

defeated Creek is one of the most beautiful, and certainly, well run campgrounds in the corps of engineers parks. easy to reach, just follow the camp grounds instructions regarding traveling there. Do NOT follow your GPS if it tells you to.”turn right on Main Street” as you enter Carthage from the west!

This is the most beautiful, well-kept campground. The views are amazing. We had groups in 5 different campsites and everyone loved it. Bikes for all will be a must next time.

We stayed 2 days each in sites 12 and 53. Unbelievable views and sunsets and great, spacious and level sites.

Check in isn’t until 3 to allow the camping areas to be cleaned for the next camper. We arrived at 4..Our site was not cleaned. Fire pit was full of old burned wood and cigarette butts everywhere.

As always, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing experience at Defeated Creek.
My only complaint is the lack of availability to full hookups on Millionaires’ Row.
The campground is ALWAYS kept immaculate.

Great place to camp. Grounds are well maintained and grass cutters and trimming personnel respectful of camp site. Camp hosts were very friendly! Will camp there again!

Very nice campground! we loved the lake views and the wonderful large park-like area that leads to the lake! The lake swim area was not very appealing to swim in in the morning hours due to debris and oily patches, but everything was clean and comfortable otherwise. We also LOVED seeing all the DEER as we entered the campground!

We stayed at site 53. The view was great. That particular location had a neighboring site in front where we felt that we had plenty of privacy. Everyone who passed by was really friendly, too. There were a few trees, enough to hang hammocks. The bath house was clean and in good shape. It's a really nice campground.

Defeated Creek is our familys absolute favorite campground! We have stayed in a number of sites and each one has been great.
