This is a high in demand campground. During my stay we noticed 6 or 7 sites unoccupied during our 4 night, 5 day stay. Checked the website and the sites are showing as being reserved. The rules state if a site is not occupied by noon the following day the the reservation is voided and becomes available to the public for reservation. This is the responsibility of the host and should they should be expected to enforce the rules.

Ive been going to Defeated Creek for 23 years and have always loved it. This year was very disappointing. The beach has absolutely NO sand. Its only rocks, clay and tree roots. Trying to get into the water was dangerous due to the clay being so slippery. The kids had to play in the boat area to find some sand, which can be dangerous. Ive also never seen this many skunks, they were everywhere after dark. Sitting at the campfire was difficult due to the skunks coming up under the camper and wouldnt leave. One of our dogs was sprayed even though the dog was leashed and we were trying to get away from the skunk. I love this campground but it is not being kept up to the standards it has always been over the years. The one positive is that more sites are being upgraded to 50 amp, which is great. Now if some upgrades could happen to the beach so kids could play in some sand and not get sprayed by skunks, that would be great. I would be happy to provide pictures of the beach if you need the proof.

A gem of a site, now one of our top 3 campgrounds now. This is a nice family orientated campground with beautiful water and a nice beach area. Wish we would have stayed longer, we'll be back.

It is sad that there is not better wifi or cell service as there was a storm when I was there and we had to take cover. I was concerned that I may not get storm warnings or tornado warnings because of the lack of good wifi service.
