Defeated Creek is gorgeous. It was very clean and quiet. We didn't have the best weather, but it was still a great weekend.

Very clean campground with several full hookup sites. Great place for walking, biking and other outdoor activities. The camp hosts are wonderful and ride through the park frequently during the day and night. You are not far from a decent grocery store as well as other good places for dining.

I wish the campground had better WIFI. In todays environment it is a necessity. I cant understand why the Corp doesnt run the network through out the campgrounds.

We love camping here, the spacioius sites and beautiful lake.I wish they would install screen doors in the restrooms as there are too many bugs and spiders coming in.

Thank you for the privilege of sharing my input about Defeated Creek. First, it is my favorite of all the Corp campgrounds that I have visited. There are some things that I think would make it even better.
I comment on this every year but it seems to fall on deaf ears. The debris in the first cove- near sites 10, 12, 14 needs to be cleaned. In the summer it is a mosquitoe breeding ground.
It would be great to have a consistent camp host and hostess. The "short timers" have not developed a dedication to the campground. I seldom if ever see them riding around checking on the camp sites, as in years past.
I am not sure whose responsibility it is to check on the physical condition of the individual camp sites. I was on site 93 during my last stay. When I went to hook up my sewer hose, there was not a cover over the sewer opening. There was a rock over the opening. I reported it to the camp hostess and her response was, "I guess it has been this way all summer.," Also, the shower house #2 (I believe) needed a shower curtain and the shower heads could not be adjusted. It may be the environmental workers or the rangers but someone needs to be responsible.
Most sites need new gravel to fill in the ruts.
There is barely enough to cover the ground causing a lot of mud during prolonged rainy days.
Another issue that bothers me is the fact that volunteers keep their campers on a site from the time the campground opens until it closes. I think they deserve to keep their campers there but not in the prime locations (site 83 specifically).
And lastly, the picnic table at my site was in bad repair. I know this is an ongoing issue but the old wooden tables are in bad shape.
All this to say I want to make Defeated Creek even better than it is already
Thank you for your consideration.
