We have been camping at Dale Hollow for many years. However we only go about every 5-7 years. So we noticed some major differences from the last time we camped there. It seems as though it is falling into disrepair. The bath houses need to be updated. They have cut away several large trees that provided shade for the campsites. I am assuming they had good reason to, however, it would be nice to see the replanting of trees so that in years to come the sites will be shaded again instead of ugly stumps. We stayed on site 78 and it was in need of more gravel and a new picnic table. The fishing dock along the streams that leave the hatchery was broken and unusable to fish on. The last time we camped there it was a new addition so it is sad to already see it dilapidated. Only one dock, out of what use to be three, is still usable to fish the Obey River. Lastly, the long bridge towards the end of the bike trail also needs some help. There were many loose boards. I hope these are things that will have changed the next time we go camping. But the staff were friendly, and as bad as the bath houses looked, the womens side was cleaned as well as it could be. There was updates so there is hope the previously mentioned items will be addressed. They have replaced a bridge that is over the trout hatchery streams and the bath house in the center of the campground had A/C. Some campsites were better than others with fresher gravel, concrete picnic tables, and concrete pads under the table. Ours was not one of those sites so it became excessively muddy after the rain. We did truly enjoy our stay just a little disappointed to see the campground in need of repair. But nothing made us feel like we wouldnt return. It is still worth going to.
