Prosser is a great little campground, but it is one of those campgrounds where the quality of the visit depends on your neighbors. We had one day out of three where there could have been a little better control of the amplified music - it wasn't terrible or real loud, but is that really why you go out into the woods? To fire up a generator just so you can play some hard rock? No one wants to hear it.Getting to the lake from camp is easily walkable down the main road... but it is a walk. It's too bad there isn't a trail directly from the camp to the lake (which would be half as far). There is also no drinking water there for the 2023 season. So, that's the slightly negatives, but overall, it very pretty, peaceful most of the time, and it is a pretty reservoir (but muddy bottom). The vault toilets were clean and amazingly odor-free.

Unfortunately there is no potable water at the campsite. The improvements made to the fire pits were nice and I guess the bear safes are fine, but I feel like potable water should have been the priority.
Aside from these items, we love camping at Prosser because the host does a great job of making sure people are following the rules. Very few issues ever. We love this campground!

This was a great place to dry camp. There were quite a few spots that our 39' motorhome fit, but there were many tent campers enjoying the campground as well. And if you are in a tent, the vault toilets were clean. So many biking and hiking trails in the area kept us busy for several days. The only reason for 4 stars is that the water was turned off. Apparently, according to the camp host, there is some malfunction at the source and there has been no water for several months. Not a problem for us as we arrived with a full fresh water tank, but we encountered many people who were caught unprepared by the water spigots not working.

This is a great place to dry camp. Very beautiful and peaceful. The only problem is that their water system is not currently working, so there is no water on site. Being that we had our own water in our motorhome tanks, it was not a problem for us, but if I were in a tent, it would be an issue.

The campground sites are large and level. The camp host was friendly and helpful. The only negative piece to our stay was the group that stayed across from us. Early in the morning, they launched two hot air balloons directly over the campground. It was extremely loud and disruptive; not a quiet, peaceful morning.

Excellent time mid-week. Perfect weather and a lot more water in the reservoir than last year. No drinkable water in the campground so bring your own!

The campground was quiet and sites are widely spaced. The camphost does a great job, the bathrooms are very clean. There is no water, which is a failing of the Truckee ranger district. The system is capable of being repaired. Agencies are managing campgrounds for their convenience, not to serve the visitor. Everyone should be complaining to agencies about sites sitting empty when people are a no show as well as asking for more first come first serve camping again.

Quiet, tree blessed sites with great camp hosts. No water service at the campground when we were there, but we brought water so we were good. We will be back!
