Beautiful location, clean and quiet, not far from Truckee. If you are looking for tranquility, this is the spot

We camped at Logger Campground in early October, and of the 260 campsites about 30 were being used. This is very normal occupancy for this time of year at Logger as we have been camping here for forty years. As we picked out a nice site we were informed by the Forest Service person that we would HAVE to change sites in two day. We were told that the rules were the rules and there were no exceptions. We had to find cell service and make an on-line reservation. The entire campground was very empty for our entire stay of 5 nights.

A little flexibility would have gone a long ways. I know the Forest Service can manage campgrounds better than this. I would have handled the situation differently ... just inform us we may have to move if a reservation comes in. The chance of that happening was very remote.
