Our favorite campground this year!

Always love staying at Logger! Close proximity to lots of OHV areas to ride motorcycles. Only inconveniences are the vault toilets can be stanky, and there's usually someone that runs their generator too early or too late... nothing that ear plugs can't fix nor choosing a spot that is usually not downwind from the vaults! All local reservoirs have been nearly full the past few years, so great fun with fishing, swimming and watching people have fun on water craft!

We dont want to say much about this place because we want to keep it to ourselves! Very special with spacious spots and clean facilities with amazing views and quiet neighbors. We come annually!

There's a couple of things that kept this review from getting 5 stars. The campground itself was very nice, clean and no bugs which was amazing. The hosts were kind and friendly. The bad parts were that they were releasing so much water out of the lake, that for me (retired, disabled Veteran), my wife (disabled), and family, it was very hard to get to and return from the lake. The second, and possibly the more important reason for a lack of stars is that this is a very large campground, with dozens if not more RV spots with NO DUMP STATION!!! Are you serious? The one they had is permanently closed. This needs to be addressed and fixed. No campground this large should have a non-functional dump station. We WILL NOT recommend or be back until this is fixed.

First two nights, a Thurs. & Fri., were noisy. 1 site w/ folks having a 40th birthday party. Fine. But other folks were here for the peace and quiet of the great outdoors. It was terrific the following 4 nights with music turned off by 10 PM. Perfect. Campground well maintained. Lots of e-bikes...meh. Weekend is noisy, no surprise, with party boats on the water screeching music that drifts all the way back into the campground. Too bad that some of the boaters don't seem to know any boating etiquette. By Mon. thru Wed. night it was really ideal. Mostly serious fishermen/women and sailboats. I don't mind jet skis but do they really have to disturb the fishermen in the back channels of the lake? It would be nice if they stayed out in the open parts to avoid running over fishing lines and causing large wake waters that rock the fishing boats. There was a research/mapping vessel from Bureau of Land Management present, doing important work to map the floor of the reservoir to determine actual reservoir capacity. They were bothered by the rude boaters as well. Their equipment was being interfered by big wakes would shake their apparatus. I hate the reservation system....months in advance and someone reserves for only one night...Saturday...making it difficult for week long campers to get good spots. I suspect the parks system is losing money because of these folks. Camp hosts were good and the bathrooms and trash were both well maintained. We chose a campsite closer to the boat ramp, in Double Bit, but ended up having to drive all the way back to the entrance and back out due to the west gate of Logger being closed??? Why was that??? We did experience a "squatter" group who came in shortly before dark and set up in the campsite next to us. We know they were squatters because they arrived late, packed up really early in the AM, and there was never a reservation ticket on their campsite post #237.

Site is by the bathrooms. We smelled waste 50% of the time when the wind would shift. Not worth the water view. Host was nice and grounds were well maintained.

Well kept. Quiet

Restrooms were never cleaned the three days of our stay. Filthiest restrooms I ever had to used.

The campsite was clean spacious and fairly close to the bathroom. Bring your own soap though as they do not offer it. T-mobile service was spotty but not bad. I liked that there was shade and close to the water. Site 065

Was disappointed ,no dumb station and over 10 miles to nearest one, had to cut my trip short.

Camp host was very friendly and I liked that they had buckets at each water station for drowning fires. I wish the camp host was still able to sell firewood. It was too bad that the Stampede water level was so low.

We really enjoyed this campground. It was clean and appropriately quiet and everything else. I wanted a good campsite.I would like to ask for lesser restrictions on OHV vehicles because this is such a great campground to access the many trails we have in the stampede area. There are no other campgrounds in this area, which allow OHV use to get to these trails.

We had a great spot but there were more than a couple of people walking their dog off leash. The way the road is a one way, it was a little difficult to get backed in blind with a long wheel base truck and 27' tag trailer, but persistence prevailed! The shore line was close, and we had a lot of wildlife to watch in the air, the trees, and on the ground. The camp host was extremely nice and welcomed us shortly after we got parked. The restrooms were as good as you can expect with pit toilets.

Camp host would not let us leave boat trailer attached. it fit in sight he insisted we move it to overflow parking.

The campsite was great as always but the upkeep of the amenities has deteriorated. Bathrooms were not cleaned well and no personnel were on duty in the middle of summer. There were no fire restrictions, which was great, but the host had no firewood and had to go to hirschdale to buy bundles for $10 each. The lake was lower than expected, yet Boca reservoir was fuller.

Host are very good with how much they have to take care of.

We have been going to Stampede Campground for years. We like it because it is usually quiet with few boaters on the reservoir. It is close to Reno, Truckee and Lake Tahoe so you can experience a variety of activities.
@johnc3063297 · Camped on Jul 20, 2025 at Campsite #32
We saw bald eagles, osprey and white pelicans.

Have been camping at Logger campground for many years now and appreciate the clean, private sites. The restroom cleaning services and garbage pick-up have varied over the years. This year the garbage was picked up regularly and the restrooms were clean.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
