We enjoyed our time here. We went in September, so it was not over-crowded. The lake level was a little lower, which made the shore line easier to access. We planned on buying firewood while we were up there, but it was late in the season and they were completely out, so we ended up not having any campfires. Sound really travels across the lake. Someone with property nearby was shooting their gun a lot, daily. They probably have a little personal shooting range on their property. The constant sound of gun shots was a little hard to get used to. The trail around the lake is a perfect hike, we enjoyed doing that. The campsites themselves are very nice. The bathrooms are super dark and super stinky. We were hoping to meet the camp host, but they were reclusive and we never saw them. The area is very pretty and I did not see any poison oak. We will definitely come back.

Great campsite. We did manage to find a small lake front area for our water toys. There are so many cut down trees blocking the campground lake front, that most people have to use the day use area. The catch with that is that you have to pay and additional fee to use it, and parking is very limited, since the entire campground is using it, in addition to day use people.

Last winter there were many dead large trees cut down but these trees were not hauled away. They blocked access from the campground to the lake; they ruined many of the small beach areas; and they created underwater hazards along the shoreline. What a horrible mess. Camp site itself was lovely but we had to use the day use area for lake access

The campsite was lovely, the water is terribly low.
I was shocked to encounter a volunteer camp host who approached us with her belief that Trump is the rightful president. Almost ruined our time there, we gave her a cold shoulder and she left us alone.
I’m sure our government does not allow this behavior.
