We always have a great time at Sugar Pine. Giant Gap is a good camp ground and site 029 is decent enough. We had one small leveled out area for a tent and there was really only one other semi level area in this site for a small tent. We had partial shade most of the day and didn't require a shade tent. The nearby restrooms were kept relatively clean and really only bad when horrible, disgusting humans missed the toilet hole (it must be their first time using using a toilet of any sort). That is not the grounds keepers fault and they did the best they could to keep up with the filthy people.
Site 029 allows a decent amount of privacy and is surrounded by tree clearing so collecting fire wood was a breeze. It's a short trot to the water and the ADA trail. The only thing that would make this camp better would be more accessibility to hiking trails. We always do the trail around the lake when we stay because that seems to be the only option. It's a nice, very easy walk for all ages.

Water was low due to the drought. Still had a great time. Kids were in the water all day. Only complaints were the noise at night from across the lake. Gun shots and dirt bikes at 3:30 AM. Neighbors at site 27 & 28 partied till 1:30 AM their first night. Camp Host talked to them. All was cool after that.

Mosquitoes worse than usual this year. But great time all around!
