One of the better Forest Service campgrounds that we have ever been to (and we've been to many). Mosquitoes were a problem, but hey it's Minnesota in the summer. Can't get away from the buggers! Popular campground so you have to make reservations well in advance. Some of the sites are a little tricky to back into with long trailers (ours is a 37' 5th wheel) because the roads are narrow. Densely wooded so its near impossible to find a opening to get satellite reception if that's your thing. Been there multiple times and have yet to find a site that we could get the dish set up. That's OK too. More time to enjoy the surroundings. There's a dump station ($5.00) at the info center in Ely. Ely is a fun town to explore and the bear and wolf centers are worth a visit.

Nice sites that have nice separation. Clean restrooms and showers. Campground hosts very helpful. Excellent pricing for block ice!

This is a fantastic campground. Lots of privacy from woods between sites, paved roads, nice facilities, good parking, small but cute playground and swim area. Excellent experience for our family!

The lake was very pretty. Site 56 was ok but not very level. Had a huge hump in the middle that made it hard to get the trailer in the right spot for leveling. The camp ground really needs a dump station instead of having to go to town and pay to dump. Be sure to fill your water tank before you set up camp.

We had a Wednesday-Monday trip to Fall Lake. Great weather, nice hiking on the Stub Lake trail. Beautiful sunsets over the lake, cool nights by the campfire. Clean campsites and restrooms/shower house. Our only negative was the family camping on our loop, that let their 4 young children run wild from early morning to late nights, riding their bikes, constantly screaming and running in and out of the restrooms all day long. Very disruptive and inconsiderate of others. Not the peaceful end of season camping that we had hoped for.
