The same couple has been the campground managers for 24 years! It's an awesome place !

We loved camping at this quiet, clean campground. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well cared for. Campsites were large and well-spaced. The lake is beautiful, and an easy entrance into the BWCA. We will be coming back in the future!

Wonderful campgrounds! Private camp sites and clean bathrooms. Our site, however, was difficult to back into. The narrow road and steep deep ditches presented a challenge.

We were big State Park campers because they are so nice, but Fall Lake topped them. It is the Best place we ever camped at. The staff is exceptional the campsites are Huge and all the campsites are very private and wooded. We are going back again this fall and plan on every year going to Fall Lake to camp.

The campsite was great, but the online map & photos I used when I made the reservation didn't clearly show the shared drive with the next site. For us, this is a concern because we have dogs, and we try to select sites that have the least possibly visual contact with neighbors to avoid any barking issues. Now that we've seen the campground, we can make different site selections.
The US Forest Service employee in the office was helpful and she provided excellent information.
The detractor was the broken women's shower in one of the buildings, and the overall aged condition of the showers. The family bathroom/shower was functional, but it was often occupied. When the buildings are remodeled, I hope they consider adding more showers.

Hot shower and flush toilets. Very nice camping experience with electric outlet at the campsite. Many friendly birds in the trees: Chickadee perched on my knee for a while.

Campsite was good and restrooms were nice. You have to have a code to enter the restrooms, but the code was never given to me. I had to ask another camper for the code.

This is a BEAUTIFUL campground! Very well kept, several bathroom/shower facilities well placed and clean, huge drive thru sites, nearly all are wooded and private, quiet, great paved roads in the campground for walking kids and dogs, great hiking trails, close to Ely for tourist activities, restaurants and shopping-Ely has a nice big park in town with a great playground if you need another place for kids to get more exercise! A good base if you fish or canoe and surrounded by more than you can count outdoor adventure opportunities. I LOVED it here. I will go back again and again! KUDOS to the employees for making this a hidden GEM in Northern Minnesota!

Wonderful woodsy location, good base camp for launch & recovery for BWCA, close enough to provision in Ely. Wonderful clean, heated restrooms with good showers. Family shower/toilet also available. Neighbors were quiet. Staff is wonderful. Minnesota Nice with capital letters MN! Now dont tell anybody, please, lets keep this quiet, thanks.

Fall Lake Campground is one of my favorite places to go - I have been camping here since I was a child. I love the privacy of some of the campsites (we have dogs so this is most important). Shower/Bathroom facilities are very nice. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Great paths around the shoreline. Lots of variety on the lake - you can go into the boundary waters area or visit main falls at the other part of the lake. It is a bummer you have to pay for a permit to enter the boundary waters area now so this has decreased the time spent in this area of the lake. Bring bug repellent as you typically have to fight off mosquitoes. Also, bring a fly swatter (especially in the boat) to ward off black flies. Not too long ago they added a cell phone tower and we get great reception (Verizon) - nice when you are trying to communicate with someone out in the boat or on an overnight camping adventure and I've had to finish some work project on vacation, so nice I can still go and do this (otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to go). It is a yearly, week-long trip for us and we love it!!
