I've been going to this campground for over thirty years and have enjoyed my visits. However, the general maintenance of the campground has declined in recent years. The campground road has numerous deep potholes that never seem to get filled. The picnic tables are in poor condition. The paint is also badly chipping off.Our firepit had numerous pieces of broken glass and cans in it.The latrines are also not serviced often enough. The general maintenance was much better in the past when there was a full- time host staying at the campground.I hope conditions improve because it's a nice location.

Concessionaire Bearskin Lodge very unhelpful. Campsite next to us started a fire when burning restrictions we on. We reported it to the Lodge, but she said that was not really their job, they "wouldn't go slap their wrists". Told us we could call the forest service ourselves. Person working said, "I am closing in about 30 seconds so didn't know what they could do about it." They did not go to the campground at all to speak to the campers about the fire. My husband went to talk to them, they said, "they didn't know about the burning ban.". We think the Lodge should have talked to them instead of leaving it up to us.
Very disappointed with them.

We have been coming to this campground for over 25 years and have seen the changes from a first come campground to the current reservation system. I am not a fan of the reservation system since it's the Superior National Forest but it is what it is.

Whoever is responsible for the maintenance of the restrooms and trash are are doing a horrible job. The guy comes around and fills the toilet paper but doesn't clean the restrooms and doesn't leave enough TP for the amount of people that are staying in the campground; they restrooms consistently run out of TP. Also, there's no recycling at this facility; Devil Track and Two Islands offers recycling, which keeps the trash bin from overflowing. Ravenwood also sanitizes the restrooms at Devil Track and Two Islands, which we did not see done at East Bearskin ONCE!

There is a flat site charge of $20 / night, which for some of the first-come sites is WAY too much money. For Example, Site #13 is one of the worst sites and not worth more than $10 / night.

Whoever is managing this campground has turned it into one of the worst campgrounds in the Superior Nat'l Forest.
