East Bearskin Lake Campground is located in the Gunflint Ranger District, Superior National Forest (2 hrs 43 min northeast of Duluth, MN) with an elevation of 1,727 feet. There are a total of 32 campsites including 4 cabins. The campground is normally open from mid May to the end of October. 25 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $20.00 to $76.00. Some amenities include general store, boat ramp, swimming. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

This campground is a dream. Weve been camping here in the fall for the last handful of years. Weve enjoyed every campsite weve had. We stayed in alder cabin this year. The cabin was clean and made our stay very enjoyable. We loved the spaciousness of the campsite and the walk down to the lake from our campsite.

Everything was clean, very quiet- perfect wooded setting. We loved that there were so many windows you could open in the camper cabin.

Cabin was nice, mattresses on beds were old and need replacing - there were only two of us so we were able to double up the mattresses to make them more comfortable. Screen porch was nice but there was a large hole in the door and one edge was pulled out from the staples. My husband fixed both with duck tape.The cabins would be even better if solar was added.

This campground is on the small side but very nice. We were there at the end of summer and there were very few mosquitoes.

We stay at the campground in a tent. But anytime we need to go to the lodge, for wood, ice, or this year we rented a boat a couple times, everyone is always so helpful. We really love it there!!!

Stayed at the Alder cabin. Was clean when we arrived. Enjoyed the short walk to the lake and sitting area there. Weather was great and we enjoyed our nightly bonfires. Plan on coming again in the near future!

Site 17 was perfect, with a large flat area great for a tent (we fit our 8 man tent easily) and easy access to the lake from the back of the site with a great rock for sitting and watching the mist rise off the lake in the morning. We were pleasantly surprised by the site being basically right on the lake shore. Theres a tiny hill up from the car pad to the site, so a little trip for carrying gear. The mosquitoes are bad - bring a head net and keep covered up and youll be fine. There is potable water a short walk away. We loved this spot!

The campground was substantially deforested. Leaving each camp to see the campsite next to us. The screen door had holes in it and the mattress on the larger bunk bed had stains on it. The picnic table was in horrible shape, and the filtering hadn't been emptied. We actually left a day early even though we paid for the following night. It campground we loved for 26 years was turned into a bare uncared for place we couldn't hardly recognize. We were so disappointed. 26 years of memories gone, just gone. It's heartbreaking to realize we need to find a different place to go after so many years.

Great campground. Very close to the bearskin lodge and then tons of amazing hikes in the area. Weve only camped in the cabins but there are several campsites along the lake they look amazing. The cabins are well maintained and also have a 3 season porch which is perfect for hanging out without bugs bothering you.

These cabins are generally a great value for what you get. However, we were quite alarmed to discover that this cabin leaked considerably rendering two bunks unusable in even a light rain. Glad we noticed before all of our gear was soaked. The cabin roof leaked in several places as was evident in darkened moldy wood panels.Another issue is that there was a big enough gap under the front door that mice got in the cabin. We keep a pretty clean area but were pretty disappointed in that. I would expect a partial refund for unusable bunks due to roof leaking and hope the design will be improved or repaired before we'll consider returning.

Camper cabin was very nice! We liked being under a roof instead of a tent when the rain came, and cooking outside still made it feel like camping.

We loved the screened porch of the cabin which allowed us to sit out at night without being eaten by mosquitoes. The site (Tamarack) was close to the vault toilets. The camping sites were far enough apart to allow for privacy. There are great hiking trails that run through the camp. Pets are allowed and our dog loved the water and hiking. We definitely will go back.

Wonderful 3 night stay! Site #17 in my opinion is the best spot. Clean campground and very quiet, especially at night.
